I recently bought a 1911 Nitron and I'm very happy with it. I really like that on this model they did away with that hideous "sharkfin" grip safety and opted for something a little more traditional. I did have to polish the sear and the hooks on the hammer. The trigger breaks real clean now. For the price you really can't beat it. It's already got all the bells and whistles of a custom 1911 for $800.
I've been looking in to buying another 1911 as well. My wife carries a Sig p250 in .357 sig, that pistol is very reliable and shoots well once you get used to the long double action trigger pull. I've been asking some of my 1911 buddies about the Sig 1911 and they say it's a good one. Of course after they recommended I get a Colt or Springfield. Lol!
