    So this came up in a survival group on FB. Somebody saw one and apparently wants to buy more. So simple its elegant. Anyone seen one like it for sale today? Im sure the power of INGO can probably come through.

    Ive owned one of these, and they are just OK. I think they would prefer no moving parts, or pieces that could get lost.

    What says INGO?

    INGO once again saves the day. I'm amazed by the collective knowledge here.
    Top one gets my vote.
    The sliding lid would be a catch for whatever is being measured.
    Likely harder to keep sanitary.
    Ive had them. Great for dry, questionable for wet.

    At least until you lose the slider down the disposal. *sad trombones*

    I think those were always just a free advertising type gadget. I had one somewhere but I have no idea where it might be at this point. I have the second kind that I use a lot. The slider part pops off and I throw both pieces in the silverware holder of the dishwasher. Pop it back together and it is ready to go.

    We have the second kind, they get used all the time. We have the pampered chef brand since my cousin sells them. They work fine for liquids because the rubber seals. We never use them for liquids because that's not our style.

    Our old one had teaspoon measurements on one end and tablespoon measurement on the other, it was nice because it was all one unit. It apparently got lost in the move and the new ones were separate pieces. I liked the older style better, but the new ones work fine.

    This works for dry ingredients;
    • 1 teaspoon is about the size of the top joint of your index finger.
    • 1 tablespoon is about the size of your thumb (or 3 teaspoons)
    • ¼ cup is about the size of an egg (or four tablespoons)
    • ½ cup is about the size of tennis ball.
    • 1 cup is about the size of your fist.
