Yeah, you read that right. My wife wants to actually hold a sloth. Any ideas where I could take her in Indiana or the midwest for such a thing? Any zoos, private collectors, rescues, etc...?

OK, looks like the Cincy zoo has a "sloth encounter", as does the Pittsburgh zoo. There is a sanctuary/rescue in Charleston, IN, but it is currently closed (for renovation). A few other zoos have sloths, but no "close encounters of the slow kind". I'm hoping I can find a small sanctuary or rescue that is local-ish. More likely to let her actually hold one.

Pretty sure the 2-toed sloth is my wife's "spirit animal". She adores them.

A two toed sloth can break your fingers and won't let go till it feels like it. She does know that they actually grow algae on their fur right? "...in the video Attenborough describes how the sloth has developed an unusual system of camouflage by letting its fur become infused with algae. ... "
