Hey guys. I just came home with a new scope and in the process of removing my stock A2 sights I realized that the allen screws are very snug and are in danger of being stripped......Any tips? or should i just take it to the gun shop and have them do it?

Interesting. Which model of Spikes rifle is that? Their specs for the ST-15 specifically state:

    * Forged F-Marked A2 Front Sight Base with Bayonet Lug and 5.3.1.2 MIL-STD-171 Phosphate Finish

    * FSB is Taper Pinned to the Barrel and Vertically Aligned

I have removed well over 100 FSB's and thats the first time i have seen anything like that. I only mess w/ taper pins for around 20 minutes before they just get drilled out in the mill. if they are already in danger of strippingout, use heat and give it your best shot, if they still dont move, then drill them suckers.
