Shame on you. If you're going to Phoenix you should take the bull by the horns and eat regionally. Not sushi. Loads of great restaurants in Phoenix, from what I've read.
No sushi last night. Went with opcos to Arriba. Found out they make their own beer! If you are in Goodyear, Arizona try Arriba by the La-Z-Boy store on McDowell.
The beer was very good. Akin to a German Pilsner, al a BBK.
Tonight I hit the sushi joint by the hotel, no dice, they had a "no guns" sign. Turned on my heel after voicing a mighty objection to the manager and ended up at Akai Hana sushi. Great fish and the chef really knew how to make a temaki (not wrapped so tight).
Great eel and I can recommend the beef negami and spicy salmon temaki.
"Kirk, are you carrying concealed or open?" Yes. Actually both, my 1911 is open, my M638 and .32 are concealed.
No problems. Got a couple of looks in the Wal-Green's but couple other people (yes, women open carry down here too, lady in front of me who was tall enough to hunt geese with a rake, was open carrying a G22 or 17).
Now, if I could only find decent coffee down here!
It has been YEARS since I was in the PHX metro area, but there used to be "Sushi Brokers" on the NW corner of Scottsdale Road and Frank Lloyd Wright. Good sushi.
Don't know if it's still there, and not exactly Goodyear/Avondale, but...
