Taurus PT1911 ALR

I'm in the market for a new gun, preferably in .45 ACP and recently read an article touting the PT 1911 ALR by Taurus. Does anyone have any experience and or opinions on this weapon?

Taurus seems to be hit and miss, I have a taurus revolver that I trust my life on, but others have said that taurus can be crap. I looked at one (a taurus 1911) when I was in the market for a 1911, and I ended up going with the STI Spartan. If you don't need a rail, the Spartan is a great gun for the money.

i have a pt1911ar (aluminum frame without the rail) i love it!, but price other brands as well, for not much more than that you can get a kimber, or a nice springfield

taurus makes a nice 1911 but they are pricing themselves out of the 1911 game

i have shoot the basic model 1911 taurus and really liked the pistol very much. i believe taurus has a life time warranty to boot.

My old Taurus 1911 out performed my loaded Springfield 1911a1 so much that I sold it and never looked back.

Buy one and enjoy it!

+1 The PT1911 was my first fullsize 1911. I never had a problem out of mine.
