As someone who's lived in Israel I have to say that this article is dead on. Teachers in class do not carry guns. Schools often do have armed security guards and armed guards do accompany kids on field trips. The mythical Israel that many gun owners think exists, doesn't. They have pretty strict gun control there and Israeli citizens do not have a right to bear arms. Reality is much different than the long distance perception of many Americans.

Yup, Israel's gun & ammo possession laws are pretty draconian. Great place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

Actually, it's a great place to live. Nice people, great beaches, fantastic food, etc. You just don't have the option to defend yourself unless you're privileged. Cops are everywhere and you see armed soldiers here and there, but all in all it's a nice place to live. When you get to see all sides of the story, tho you see that there are no clean hands there.
