Value and what you can sell it for can differ by quite alot

    G43x (pre MOS ) $500
    TLR-6 $100
    Red extended controls $30 + $30 + 30
    Red Tungsten Guide Rod $90
    Ghost Connector $25
    Wheaton Trigger $140
    Ameriglo sights $80
    Grip Tape $20
    Kydex Holsters $30 + $30 + $30
    3- extra Mags $75

~ $1,250 but because not MOS lucky to get $ 500
None of these things sound related to a Marlin 336...

Everyone knows you look at Gunbroker and other auction sites to see what a particular firearm is “going for” these days. You research and do some analysis and come up with a reasonable and correct selling price. Simple, really!

I saw a glenfield at a shop local to me for, I think, about $700-800. It was an old JM. Really nice gun that I would have considered if I didn't have one already.
I would guess yours would be just above that. Maybe less because you're not all original parts. Hard to say really.

Aution sites is emotional bidding. I rely more on private sales.
I value modern firearms as a percentage based on condition.

I would say private sale pice would around $750-$1000 range.

There are guys out there looking for pre micro groove guns who may pay a little extra. The fact that there haven't been any sling studs added helps also.

BTW, Welcome to :ingo: that's a nice rifle.

Welcome and here are my two cents. I bought a 1949 waffle top Md 336 at a local auction like 15years ago. It was solid with a smooth action but cosmetically challenged. I did some research then and concluded that there was no super significant premium for them over other JM 336s. So I went to town on it as a project gun. The point is they were running about what other older Marlins were selling for.

I saw a JM Marlin 336 at a local gun show recently. It was chambered in .30-30, was in very good overall condition, and they were asking $875 IIRC. Seemed high to me.

Finally I just bought a REM era, made at the New Haven factory, Md 336 Youth Model for $575. It is in excellent condition, no box. I feel it was a fair price plus it was effectively a local transaction.
