traded for xd 40 at Indy 1500

I took a gun I wasn't really attached to to the 1500 and ended up trading for an xd 40. I haven't been all that interested in the xd until recently. Now that I have one and have shot it a few times I am liking it quite a bit.

I traded a Taurus PT 101 AFS with several accessories to sweeten the deal. I traded for a used xd so the values were close but I still had to give the guy boot.

I'd say you traded up; nice one. I had an XD for a while and loved it. Now my Dad loves it.

yeah i traded a tarus pt-145 for a xd45 a couple years ago. best decision i ever made. I would always hit the mag release on the pt-145 when i was shooting it with my thumb. No other guns i have ever done that on so i didnt think it was my grip just the gun so i traded it quick

Range report - I like the way it feels and shoots. It's a fairly heavy gun being the duty version so the .40 doesn't seem very difficult to control. It is shooting low and left. I quadruple checked this from bench and free standing from 18 and 25 feet. The sights on the XD are fixed. Is there anything that can be done about this on fixed sights?

you can drift the rear sight, you can also go to dawson precision and they have different heights/widths to help get you on track.
