Chris, Aside from a rifle, what sort of other equipment should we have? Sling? Ability to carry magazines on our belt? How many mags would you recommend and how many rounds of ammo? Will we just be working with the rifle, or should we also bring a handgun and holster for it?

Hi Perry, it's good to hear from you again. It will be good to have you in another class!

When you sign-up for the course, we send a document detailing the gear you'll need, but in summary this is what you'll need to have with you:

    - A positive attitude.
    - Eye and ear protection.
    - Any rifle/carbine in a caliber permitted at the location of the class.
    - Semi-auto or select-fire (set to semi-auto) is recommended. Bolt, lever and pump are acceptable but not recommended.
    - A sling which is securely attached to your rifle.
    - At least 200 rounds of ammo - more is always a good idea.
    - A hard or soft sided gun case that securely holds your rifle.
    - Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing with close-toed footwear.
    - A head-cover with a brim (IE: baseball cap or boonie hat)
    - Knee-pads - inexpensive ones are fine, hard or soft.
    - A water-bottle to keep yourself hydrated.
    - A notepad for taking notes.

You can of course bring other gear that you feel appropriate but this is what you'll need.

Joe has designed the course, so you'll be getting instruction and scenarios straight from his real-world experience. It will be a good time and you'll learn a lot.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

    Take care and BE SAFE!

    - Chris
