    Tuesday Poker Challenge Rules

Every Tuesday from 4-12-16 through 5-31-16 (8 total Tuesdays)

    Targets are $5 each

No limit on the number of times a shooter can enter, each $5 target represents one entry into the contest

Firearms used must be handguns with iron sights only. Caliber must be.380 ACP or larger for semi-automatics or .38 Special or larger for revolvers.

Shots must be taken at 10 yards

Range staff will place the target and will observe the shooter while they fire their shots

The shooter will have 7 shots on the target, the goal being to get the best 5 card poker hand from the 7 rounds fired

If a shot breaks two cards the numerically higher card is scored regardless of whether it helps or hurts the poker hand

If a shot does not break the border of any card but is still on paper it is considered a miss. If two shots are on the same card it only counts as one card toward the hand. The second shot is considered out of play.

In the event that 3 or more shots miss or are out of play, the target cannot be scored (5 cards are required for a complete hand) and that target will be disqualified.

Shots must be fired in a reasonable amount of time. Staff will not be timing the shooter, the purpose is not to create time pressure, but we can't have an employee watching for 15 minutes for someone to fire 7 rounds.

A winner will be chosen each Tuesday at the close of business for a daily prize. Daily prizes will consist of one free 30 minute range pass and one 50 round box of ammo in 9mm, .40 S&W, or .45 ACP. The caliber will be chosen by the winner, the brand and type will be chosen by Applied Ballistics staff. Once the winner is determined they will have until the following Monday (6 days after the contest) to pick up their prize.

At the conclusion of the contest on May 31st the overall winner will receive a Kimber SOLO 9mm pistol (must pass a background check). The winners from each week will be compared against each other to determine the overall winner. In the event of a tie (in the weekly contest or the overall contest) the parties that tied will be given the opportunity to have a "shoot off". They will have until the Monday after to come in and shoot another target, free of charge, at 15 yards. All other rules are the same. Winner is determined in the same manner. Should another tie take place there will again be another “shoot off” at increasing distance until a winner is determined.

Prizes include handgun ammunition and a handgun so participants must be 21 years of age or older

Once the target is placed by staff, shooters cannot bring it back to check their target before firing more rounds

Shooters cannot mark their targets in any way prior to having them placed by range staff

Shooters cannot use magnified optics to check their targets between shots

All targets will be scored by Applied Ballistics staff. The score cannot be challenged and is final. Determination of the winner is final and cannot be challenged. Entering the competition is an agreement to these rules and terms.

Applied Ballistics staff are not allowed to enter the competition.

We are open until 7pm so it might be feasible depending on where in Indy you are and when you get off work. We do have a safety orientation all shooters must watch before being allowed to shoot on our range so plan to need at least 10 extra minutes before you can shoot if you decide to try it.

I've been there once and already have my safety card. :rockwoot:

I might have to just come up and give it a shot! (Pun intended)
