Binge watched series last night. Kind of sad how TV dumbs down history and adds bosoms and hunks to attract the masses.

I found the Appleseed stories told by amateurs far more entertaining (and educational). There were so many suspenseful moments in those stories that the TV series just glossed over such as the British retreat back to Boston.

I do enjoy historical based fiction but expect a bit more historical accuracy intertwined with my entertainment. Like the Bernard Cornwell books.

The series at least hinted at the fact that these men were risking everything (life, family and fortune) in their quest for liberty. A huge risk that few today would be willing to gamble away on a long shot. Instead the masses prefer to swill beer and swallow hot dogs in celebration of the risks and sacrifices our Founding Fathers made. Kind of like the disregard shown for Veterans Day.
