I let my boys pick their summer vacations this year. Oldest wanted to go to Vegas and I immediately thought he had debauchery in mind. Much to my surprise he wanted to go for guns and cars. He gambled a whopping $3!

First stop was Battlefield Vegas and while expensive, definitely had the best selection of guns including his grail gun the mp7. We enjoyed walking through the lot seeing all the old field vehicles almost as much as shooting.

Machine Gun Vegas advertised a big selection but only a handful were available and their pricing was outrageous. $200 to shoot 2 rounds out of a Barrett!

Gun Strip Vegas was definitely the budget option. They did have a nice selection but a much longer wait because it was the most affordable place in Vegas.

After that we spent the next day at Speed Vegas driving exotics on the track. This made my wallet hurt the most and I think my son enjoyed the guns more than the speed.

Our last night I convinced him to play blackjack with dad's money. After losing $200 in about 20 minutes he finally figured it out and and we moved to live cards. Between the 2 of us, we made the $200 back and made a few dollars.

Vegas is a lot of fun, even if you aren't a gambler. We go a couple times a year and rarely gamble a dollar.

Now you got me thinking about the Speed Vegas thing. That Audi R8 is calling to me. :D
I drove the Evo and they pair you with a driver. He asked why I picked it and I said it had to be the best because it was the most expensive.

It was amazing getting to check off bucket list items for a 21 year old (what the hell do they know anyway) and sitting at the Gordan Ramsey burger bar having a drink with him are things I'll cherish. Hopefully he'll look back on the experience fondly and remember his old man wasn't such a bad guy after all.

Burger was the best place we ate either of the 2 times I have been.

Honestly though we mainly ate at the food court in our hotel. We also hit the gelato in the Bellagio a couple times a day.

Sounds like a fun trip! We stayed in New York New York when we went years ago, had a great pastrami burger and some really good pizza in the hotel, drank a lot of free beer while sitting at a slot machine, and rented a car for a day and drove to red rocks national park, drove to California, and went to Hoover dam.

I’d like to go back out there someday.
