I'm looking into getting a new 1911 soon, but I am wanting one with the glossy Nickel finish. The only one I can find is a Rock Island 1911. However, I do not want a 1911 with the stock sights. I'm looking into maybe getting a Springfield Mil-Spec and putting some night sights on it. I still want the Nickel finish though. Does anyone know of a place I could get this finish applied to the gun and how much does it usually run?

    Thanks in advance!:rockwoot:

I can recomend Rebel Gun Refinishing in Wildwood Florida. 352-330-0268
These guys have refinished three of my firearms from hard chrome to
brushed nickel. Yes you will have to ship it off, however their turn around
time was reasonable and they do professional work.

Thank you very much. If you don't mind me asking, how much were their rates?

If you are capable of doing your own 'tear-down' (which will be required by many of these shops) and just send the parts you actually want 'nickeled'...... here's a link to the entire current list of Indiana platers.

    in

Not to take business away from our friends at the gun shops.... but most all of them 'out source' the work to one of these shops, anyway. Some will deal with the public direct, others do not -or- only do large industrial jobs. Most of the shops that do automotive chrome plating will also do any small nickel plating job.

    * I can personally recommend R&S Plating, Williamson, and Advance.....
