Why did they pick a CZ for illustrative purposes? (News story on gun and sex)

Look at the picture in the article:

I'm assuming that they picked a picture of CZ 75 not because it was the actual model used in the murder, but it was just for illustrative purposes only. But that's kind of an obscure brand (for the media anyway). Do you think they picked a foreign brand to avoid lawsuits?

This man is total moron, I mean there is not even a word to describe it.
He just violated every single of the four safety rules.
ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED.Even I knew that his gun was loaded by the simple fact that it was a freaking gun.

As for the OP question I dont think the brand has anything to do with lawsuits.
I mean even if it was the actual gun, the gun maker cannot sue the newspaper for that.
They usually take random pictures.In one articles they talked about a Beretta (or other brand, im not sure) pistol used in a crime and they had the picture of a Glock.
