I agree, this doesn't look like kids being kids. I know people that raise their kids to be "tough"...sad to think little kids would beat on one another to the point CT's are in order.

Seems to me, the school has a responsibility to protect the student as a parent would.
The school should assume responsibility for all medical expenses.
What school system is so freaking irresponsible as to leave 5 year olds alone on the playground?
Do they put out a sign that says, "Free Children! Please Steal!"

"Rough" is an understatement. Why wasn't anybody watching the children? I know we had supervision during recess at my elementary, and we never had an incident like this.

Agreed, there's a difference between 'rough-housing' and 'violence'.

JMO, but would like to know more, as there's some clues that the story isn't exactly what's being presented. The photos assuredly weren't taken at the same time, and why were the photos not taken immediately, while still at the school as they appear to have been taken at home or elsewhere, somewhere outside the school.

Nor do those pictures appear to reflect the sort of bruises and contusions that would be sustained being 'kicked' by another kindergarten-age child, as claimed. The damage is 'too exact', and appears specifically focused on the eye sockets and upper lip only. That's appears a bit 'too precise' for an attack by another little kid.

The extensiveness and precision of the damage appears more in line with an attack from an adult, specifically guided at the eyes and upper mouth area. Not even the nose, at the nose doesn't appear broken or damaged, and the small amount of dried blood around the right nostril appears more incidental. Kids just aren't that exacting, especially if 'attacking in a rage', which the damage shown would indicate, an attack from an enraged person.

Further, while the school is not named (and WHY not?), how many kindergarten schoolyards (in the U.S.) aren't monitored in some form or other by at least one adult / teacher?

Also 'questionable' is the FaceBook 'fund' that's now been set-up for 'medical bills'. If this happened at a kindergarten schoolyard as stated, medical care would be borne by the school, unless the school district is absolutely clueless. The fall out (legally, politically, and financially) for not doing so would be immense.

All these things, taken individually, might be 'irrelevant' or 'coincidental'. But, when clues start to add in, they start to add up, as well.

Get little Avalynn the immediate medical attention she needs, most assuredly. But 'something' here just doesn't pass the 'smell test'. It could be the reason the Pascagoula PD isn't investigating it as a criminal case.

Any child who would repeatedly kick another childs face is clearly someone who has serious issues, most likely taught from violent people or maybe media. Normal children may hit and bully, but they do not continue to do damage once the other child is down screaming. It takes a special kind of meaness to do that. That looks like a beat down seen when gangs want to punish someone.
