XD/XDM Finish

Thinking of leaving a spare xd/xdm in the truck and not sure if it'll rust. Anyone have any experience with this?

The pins do.

Not 100% if the slide is SS but mine is at least hard chromed and hasn't rusted.

However EVERY pin on the gun is brown.

my friend has the ss slide and it has rusted, in his house

With all steel guns I used to spray the inside of the gun rug with crc556 and it seemed to keep the rust at bay on the car gun. I carried an officers acp that way for years. I do not know if the composite frame guns are affected by long term exposure to a light oil film.
