I'm using leftover chicken to make mini calzones for lunch. Chopped up onion and mushrooms to saute for dinner with the steak and to add to the calzones. Kids are coming over around 1 so dad can mow the yard while mom is at work.

Back from the Indian buffet. Tried something new today. I've always seen these round balls floating in some kind of syrup but never knew what they were. They're called gulab jamun. I had to look them up on my phone before I tried them. :): Turns out they're fried doughballs made from semolina and milk solids seasoned with cardamon, saffron and the syrup is flavored with rose water. They're an Indian dessert. They were actually very good! You'd think they'd be all soggy but they weren't at all. They kind of had the texture of a dense cake donut hole. Very rich though.

I just mowed Thursday but it already needed it.
Daughter mowed yesterday, son trimmed. I watched, some.
But I have to go around and grade their work, still, as if they were 12.

That's actually turned into a good thing. We get to plan for the next steps in getting our garden beds the way we want during our little tours.

But Daddy praise still urges them along the way, for now.
    I'm a fortunate man.
