    Somewhere over the rainbow
Coming to the end of an 8 lb. jug of Red Dot (Promo actually) that I have been using to load 9mm, including 115, 124 and 147 gr. FMJs. No complaints, and frankly I haven't found it to be that dirty.

I have a 4 lb. canister of Titegroup waiting in the wings, but now I'm thinking of sticking to Red Dot/Promo.

Any take from INGOers on the better powder? I have largely abandoned 115 gr., so shooting heavier bullets these days.

We're talking plinking/IDPA as opposed to self-defense or hunting loads.

    No experience with red dot.

I have been using titegroup for 115 grain plinking. Have to be careful loading anything heavier. Not much of a load window. For anything heavier I wasn't comfortable with the small window loading progressive so went with a slower powder.

Got to love the price of titegroup and 115 grainers. My .22lr guns got gone. Cheaper to shoot 9mm.

same here. my prog runs about +/-.1gr with it but the window from min to max is only .5gr so not much in the way of "working up" a load... just kinda is what it is. I have 8 or 9lb still but I like it for general use so no biggie.

long story short, just run it. not worth the loss to sell it.

In my pc carbine my titegroup 115's group a 9in plate at 50 yds with little effort and a red dot. I'm sure with a scope accuracy would show more.

Using the Hodgdon Powder Data site for 9mm it list Titegroup 3.6-4.1 grains, I load 3.9 grains using an X-treme 124 grain plated bullet. In 45acp Hodgdon list 4.0-4.8 grains and I load 4.6 grains using an X-treme 230 grain plated bullet and have very good groupings with both.

I run the hell out of Titegroup in 9mm w/124 gr Xtreme plated. Load it to 4 gr. Did 3.8 but friend of mine's gun wouldn't run with it so upped it and have loaded many thousand rounds w/no issue. I used a Lee powder drop on a progressive for a couple years and no issues to date except for the 50 I loaded w/0 gr of tite group. That was on me though. :p

I've not used Red Dot like many of the other guys here but I'm using it to load 115's and 147's both. I'm about to finish up my first 8lb jug of it.
