I have to tell ya, I think the Indy 1500 commercials on the radio are about as stupid and annoying as any I have ever heard. Also, I think it portrays gun owners as freaking drooling morons. If I were in charge, I'd attempt to lure in first time gun owners and touch on personal protection and heritage.

They're awful, and have been for years. I agree with you, they tend to paint gun owners and anyone else who attends the 1500 in a negative light.

I think they were made years ago and the good 'ole boy who manages the event is just too cheap or unmotivated to go after a newer market. Sucks for the vendors who aren't seeing the same crowds they did just a few years ago.

*The tackier the commercial, the more effective it is

Didn't we already talk about this last time around?

I'm too lazy to search for the thread but it's out there, I'm sure of it.

You are correct, we bashed them last 1500 too.

You have to admit, it's an awfully good Don Knotts impression.

I tend towards the tacky and tasteless so see them as quite humorous although some of the puns are almost painful. I seriously doubt with all of the negative connotations of gun ownership as portrayed in the msm that a different commercial is going to sway anyone into the light of knowledge.
