And odds are it'll sit in those boxes in the office building for about 3-4 years and then find its way to one of the many shipping containers located on property used as outside storage. Non climate controlled and only as secure from the elements as the lowest bid used container it sits in. It's a long slow paper death. And b4 someone asks, law prohibits them from electronically scanning them and putting them in a "data base".

    Jeez-
You can't get a clean gun at Gander Mountain. For that you need to park behind your nearest 7/11 after midnight and wait. They will come to you.

    You're welcome!

I have kinda wondered about that. When an old shop closes its door and sends in the paperwork, as paper doesnt last forever. Hopefully theirs not a secret computer data base with all our info's sitting on top of the crate the lost ark is in , which is next to the unmarked box the holy grail resides in...heh.

Goes to Martinsburg WV and gets put on microfilm (eventually) to help with background traces for guns recovered in crimes, from felons, etc.

And with today's optical character recognition technology, if we arent already capable of a computer system automatically "reading" those 4473s, it will be shortly. Eventually AI and other tech will advance to be able to read those scanned copies as if it were a computerized database.
