Someone please help me understand the logic in this.

My listing for a P220 caliber conversion kit (now listed on GunBroker) is considered an assault weapon part on EBay and removed.
    https://www.gunbroker.com/item/784670950

Yet EBay allows other sellers to sell P220 threaded barrels?
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sig-Sauer-...833315&hash=item1a5ccc5ad7:g:W9sAAOSwuMZbh0AS

    WTH?

Here's an excerpt from the email EBay sent me:
"You may sell accessories that would fit a variety of different weapons, such as scopes and sites. However, if you sell these items, you can't mention assault weapons in your listing or product.

Listings or products that describe parts or accessories for assault weapons will be removed, including items that don't attach to assault weapons.

To learn more about our assault weapons policy, go to:
    http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/firearms-weapons-knives.html

You listed a threaded barrel for a handgun/pistol. In many states and counties this renders the handgun into an assault weapon. In order to prevent our members from inadvertently breaking laws, we have decided not to allow these parts for sale. We are grateful that you have chosen to use eBay to list this item, but we must ask that you not relist."

eBay cancelled my auction for a Thompson sling as an "assault weapon accessory". I did an eBay search and there were 20 other Thompson slings listed. Ebay said that someone must have reported my sling, so the auction was cancelled. As a test, I reported ALL 20 of the other Thompson slings, and NOT ONE of the auctions were cancelled. They also cancelled my auction for a WWII M8 bayonet scabbard as an "assault weapon". They said that there IS an assault weapon called an M8, so my scabbard was cancelled. Their feedback policy and return policies are ridiculous. It is IMPOSSIBLE to leave neutral or negative feedback for a buyer, even if they do not go through with the sale. The buyer can destroy your item and send it back in pieces and eBay will FORCE you to refund their money by TAKING the funds from your PayPal account. Ebay has become such a joke that I no longer list ANYTHING with them.

Its all in how you word things when it comes to EBay. Ive had a few listings that wouldn't post but changed one word and good to go. Dont mention assault weapon( what the hell is that anyway) and if you stay away from using ar15 as well you should be ok. List as accessories for msr(modern sporting rifle) and you should have zero issues

    .
And I used to sell HK rifles, Galils, AKs and Uzis on eBay including large mags and drums. All the way up until you couldn't, and that's when GunBroker got super popular.... like overnight. Literally.

I was surprised to hear they opened it back up for parts. Even as limited as it is. Bastards!

Yeah. I've had a 40.00 credit there for about 14 years. Ever since the buyer attempted to steal a truck camper that I'd sold her for 76.00. Ebay didn't give a swizzle about that, but was concerned that I didn't report the sale closed quickly enough and cough up their commish. So they charged me 52.00. On a 76.00 auction. That I had to threaten to report to the Georgia bureau of investigation as interstate theft in order to get paid.
I leave the 40.00 refund on there just so they have to send me a statement every month.
    Frack those bastages.

I get that. The wording I used on EBay is the *exact* same wording I used on the GunBroker listing. Stupid.

I've got a credit of $2.15 that I have carried on there for years, and get a statement every month on it. I don't even remember how it originated to be honest.

Snitch. Just because you got caught doesn't mean you ruin It for others.

Give me a break, it was a TEST, because I did not BELIEVE the eBay representative, and my gut feeling was right, as not one of the other "assault slings" was cancelled There are LOTS of large capacity magazines on eBay listed as "10 round", and even firearm and machine gun receivers listed on there. I won't bid on them, but I won't "report" them either.

I once had an antique pellet pistol on there, o-rings were shot so even if you stuck a cartridge in it it would bleed out after 10 seconds if that. It was a collectible wall hanger or something repairable if you knew how to do it. Ebay took it down after 2 days and said I had to be "certified/authorized to sell such a weapon and at that moment they weren't taking any new dealers".

I also had a used threaded barrel for a pistol and it sold on ebay, about 2 weeks AFTER the sale they sent me a message saying because in some states you create an assault weapon by having a threaded barrel, I was not allowed to sell mine.

All the while I've seen commemorative shotguns, real ones needing to to through a FFL, make it through an ebay listing without getting flagged or "solvent trap adapters".

I use ebay a lot.....but there's a lot of BS double standards and crap that goes on

Knowing such changes around buyer feedback and refunds were coming is why we chose to stop selling on eBay years ago... it just wasn't worth the potential hassle.
