That Savage is a great buy. I picked up one for $99 a couple years back at the Walmart in Sturgis, MI. Spur of the moment purchase, but it was a great price for a very accurate and reliable unit. Nothing fancy, but it works.

I've seen reviews that the Rossi is very nice for the price. I'm tempted to pick one up, even though I have no need for one.

Great list, but I have a soft spot in my heart for the Marlin model 60.

My first self-loading rifle! It lives in the back of a safe now but I still have it.

$69.99 at the Service Merchandise on 38th Street in Indianapolis!

Yea about that article; the CZ Howa 455 Training Rifle shown @ $183.43 avg price shows at $350.00 the two places I checked, who has it for under $200 ?

CZ Howa? Sorry, 4651, not tracking.

If you are referencing the CZ 455, that was recently discontinued for importation and prices jumped. At the time the article was written (likely July of this year) the CZ455 was still relatively inexpensive.

Yeah, I've shot competitions with the tacticool heavy barrel model. I've found it to be less reliable than a 10/22, but still a good deal.

Have three of those. A Savage, Ruger and a Crickett. All three are excellent rifles for the price. Surprised to not see any tube fed rifles like the Model 60.

The reviews on the Chiappa have been less than positive. After having handled one, I would not have included it on that list.
