    Your favorite Survival/Post-apoc/Disaster movies?

Watched "Book of Eli" last year and enjoyed it, and just watched "The Road" last night. Trying to find more good movies in similar settings.

I hear a lot about "A Boy and his Dog", and I'm told the Mad Max series of movies is worth seeing. Do they hold up well?

What are your favorite movies that involve survival/preparedness concepts?

It's hard to find now but I like The Day After. I remember when that came out on network TV, it frightened the masses pretty good.

Warning Sign was pretty good as well. The Crazies & Contagion weren't bad.

If you believe Al Gore and the "global warming/ climate change" kooks, Waterworld is one to watch. Pretty good movie, even though i'm not a Costner fan

    Leaving out zombie movies.....
The original Mad Max does NOT hold up well. Avoid it unless you absolutely have to see it. The rest are enjoyable.

    -Children of Men. MUST see!

    -The Postman

    -The Pianist (true story)

    -Doomsday

    -Defiance (true story)

    -Snowpiercer

    -Hell (in German though)

    -The Way Back

    -The Colony

These two are classic. Saw the first one in Jr. high and have been preparing ever since.
