I just spoke to Elizabeth Glover, proprietor of Charlie Brown's Pancake and Steak in Speedway. I and many of my auto racing acquaintances have been going there for years. I asked her directly about carry in her restaurant and she her reaction was very favorable. She also gave me permission to post her position here on INGO.

Incidentally, Liz lost her husband when he was struck and killed by a motorist while walking his dog and lost a son when he was murdered. She's a remarkably strong woman who even foiled an armed robbery attempt several years ago by tackling a woman with a pistol in her restaurant.

Many LEOs and security personnel carry in there and she's A-OK with us law-abiding citizens doing the same. I would really like to meet fellow INGOers and this would be an ideal venue. The food and service are great (check any review site) and you will not leave hungry.

If anyone wants to schedule a regular or semi-regular breakfast or lunch INGO invasion I'm all for it. :rockwoot:

Charlie Brown's is a Great place to eat. I haven't been there for years (moved) and had feared that the Speedway Main Street Project would put her out of business a 2nd time. Breakfast, Huge Tenderloins and a large dinner menu all cooked to order.

Charlie Brown's in Speedway supports OC/CC.

So Charlie Brown's supports breaking the law, after all CCing is illegal in Speedway

    Oops forgot the purple

We could all just OC in there... potential problem averted. Liz has no problem at all with this as long we are all obeying the law. I wasn't aware of any anti-CC ordinance and (unwritten?) non-enforcement policy. I know some of the town LEOs and I will ask them about it. I want to be a good ambassador here.

I wouldnt say that it is great food. But it is an independent restaurant that has good service and fair comfort food.

For a great breakfast I would head to LePeeP.

LePeep is fine, but Broad Ripple rocks breakfast. You can usually find Kirk at the Red Eye, Taste, Good Morning Mama's, Zest, inter alia--all one after another in the same morning.:D

Anywho, what the monkey sez about the Speedway ordinance is correct. Here's the cite for it:

    Speedway, IN Municipal Code

    9.08.020 Concealed unlawful.
It is unlawful for any individual to carry a concealed firearm within the town limits. (Ord. 358 § 2, 1966).11

Enjoy Charlie Brown's and let your pistol flag fly.

For some reason I dont see your dad eatting duck eggs, so yes I believe its 100% your fault

Well, my father* likes Gooseberry pie. Is that close enough?:D

BTW, The Blonde loves duck eggs.:laugh:

*(Note: Kirk's father is vastly more popular than Kirk. Kirk invites his father to hang out so others will like him).

No thats not close enough, gooseberry pie is a staple of the rural community's of Indiana.

I believe that night you were more interested in talking to blondie than a roofer, so I resorted to talking to Sr Freeman.
