TSA And Feds Set Up Random Check Point In GA

No doubt they'll be doing this all over the place soon enough. It was bad enough when local cops were doing it for federal dollars, now the feds are just skipping the middle man and setting up their own suspicionless checkpoints on major highways. Yep...they hate us for our freedom.

This time next year we'll need papers to travel from state to state. Just like the communists did in the Soviet Union. And the usual idiots will praise it because "if you don't like it you don't have to travel."

    State to state? Papers?

They'll show up anywhere they feel like, not just borders. And you'll be getting much more searched than your papers.

How can the people doing this possibly justify?

What authority do they claim allows them to waylay people this way?

They justify it as it gives them a paycheck.

National security is what they claim allows them to do so.

There is no limit to the amount of freedom most people are willing to give up, no limit to the degradation and humiliation they're willing to suffer, in order to feel "safe from terrorists."

Al Qaeda has already won. Most people are just too stupid to see it.

I hope to hell some national outlet picks this story up.

If they keep this up, we'll have to swap out another 60 reps in 2012, G-d willing.

I'm curious how they are able to compel anyone to stop. With sobriety checkpoints, at least the police allow you to an opportunity to turn and go another route before you reach it.

What can they do if you refuse to stop? What can they do if you refuse to respond to them?

The Constitution allows for warrantless searches? That's a new one. That must have been in the fine print.

Since this is relatively new it's doubtful the Supreme Court has heard any cases on it. Although I'm sure it'll happen soon enough.

I wonder if they can't wait for all the WWII vets to be dead and buried so that they can do to us what people like my father fought Hitler to put an end to. Every time my father hears of this stuff, it makes his 87 year old heart ache. He shed blood in Germany to free people from random police checks, rolling roadblocks, requirements for papers to be shown.

And now this!?!?!? The stories that I have read about my father's unit scare the heck out of me. There were days they were thrilled to either just wake up alive of move forward one foot. All that for freedom that we are now slowly losing in the name of "Homeland Security"??? As the son of my father, I pray that I never see that horror here on the homeland that we the people hold as the land of liberty. Hopefully not permanently lost.
