The Stevens 200 is made by Savage and is in similar price range as the Edge. One nice thing about the Stevens is the fact you can put aftermarket Savage stocks on them if you want to. Gives you options.
have savage model 25 med hvy barrel shoot great straight out of box can find one for about 525 laminate stock my favorite rifle .223
I would opt for the 22-250 (450 yds) if you want long range. I would opt for the 223 if you want decent range out to 300 yds. The 223 is cheaper to shoot and ammo is easier to find in a greater variety. You might also consider a Thompson Encore which is not quite as accurate with factory barrels as a good bolt action. Then you can change barrels easily if you want a different calibre.
I hunt coyote with a 22K hornet, .223, 22-250, 308, and on rare occasion a 22mag with heavier bullets for close range (75yards or less).
I have Remington 700's, Remington 788, Ruger No. 1, T/C contender, T/C Encore, and Ruger 77/22 in 22 khornet and 22 mag. All are adequate as well as Savages etc. Buy what you like and feel comfortable and confident shooting. It's all fun. Good shooting.
