Does anyone run aftermarket exhaust on their vehicle?

What do you have? Do you ever get tired of the louder noise?

I'm thinking of getting one for my Jeep. And I'm really liking Banks, but I've heard guys say they get tired of listening to the loud noise after awhile.

If it "drones" then it gets annoying. Flowmaster is good for that. I'm running Pypes on my car and love it. But, my DD is all stock and its nice.

If it's only a little, no biggie, especially with todays insulators for interior noise. I'd say go for it. Or buy another gun.

I run a flowmaster on my I6 jeep, it's not very loud at all. I'm assuming yours is an I6, if so noise shouldn't be an issue

I'm liking Banks monster. It's only $283. But I like flowmaster too. Lot of good videos on YouTube showing the difference.

I'm not sure what kind the guy down the street got, but the system came with a ticket for violation of the local noise ordinance. :)

    Not a fan huh? ;)

Arent you old though? If so, that makes sense :D

Well, how impressed would you be if I were to impose my preferences on you, whether you liked 'em or not?... or how bout waking folks up in the middle of the night, just driving by?... or having to stop talking to my neighbor across the fence until the noise goes away....

You could accurately say that I'm NOT a fan, but then I try not to let my preferences have an adverse effect on others. Completely your call.

Yes, by some standards, I'm old, but lots of good folks never reached my age.

    I was only kidding around.

I'll admit, some people have WAY too loud of an exhaust. They drive past my house all the time, and it's annoying.

What I do like is when they have that deep growl.

I've still got the stock exhaust on my Harley. I already paid for that functioning exhaust, why would I want to buy another? Same applies to rims, tires, etc.

Dang... you're no fun.:D +1 to you though for keeping the stock exhaust on your Harley. Most I hear sound like some old Soviet farm tractor. But hey, one man's noise is another man's music.:yesway:

I ride an ultra. Don't want to drown out my own music!

I about cried at how quite it was the day I bought it but now prefer the quiter exhaust. Im sure the neighbors do at 5 am as well.

My last truck had a Borla cat-back system. Sounded cool on the outside. Hated it on long trips. "Drone" is an understatement. The previous owner installed it, and I was too cheap to replace it. The current truck is all stock. Other than pulling that darn DPF the moment the warranty expires, it'll stay that way.

I'm even going back to single exhaust (though still a turbo muffler) on the old CJ. The duals are just annoying after a long day on the trail.

A friend of mine has had luck with a Dynomax aftermarket muffler on an otherwise stock 4.0L exhaust. Nice rumble under acceleration, but reasonably quiet otherwise.

I use to have a SLP catback. It isn't annoying unless you let it sit in the drone-zone. Only wanted to do it at certain rmps. Otherwise, louder exhausts aren't that annoying.
