The Tri State Gun and Knife Show is today and tomorrow at the Stout Field Armory. We got there at 9AM, walked around and looked for about two hours, maybe a little longer. One BIG room full of stuff and one smaller room full of stuff. The event looked to be well attended, lots of cars in the parking lot, parking was free.

The food was pretty tasty, for what they had, and the restrooms were reasonably clean yet busy.

The gun prices were shockers to me, I haven't been to a gun show in about 3 or 4 years and I was amazed at how much some of these guys were asking for, well...junk. Sure, there were some deals to be had but overall I thought the prices being asked by the vendors were more on the high side of reasonable than anything else.

We left at about 11:30 and headed down KY ave to the gun shop at Camby Rd and KY ave...bought a brand new XDM .40 in 4.5 inch in black and stainless...came with holster and three mags, great case, gun lock, etc etc...it was tagged at $679.00

Same gun used, at the gun show, with 2 mags and nothing else, was trying to be sold for $699.00 <--- WTH??? :n00b:

Let the buyer, and the seller beware.

I'd go to this show again, I bought a nice boonie hat for my grandson, we ate some brownies, and fingered a bunch of cool knives. I did see a nice Ka-bar box with a chinese knife in it...hahah...thought that was kind of goofy.

I saw a Glock 26 for $650. I inquired if it had night sights or anything and was told no. I was speachless and walked away. Did Dons have a booth at the show?

On the positive side, I did find CCI small pistol primers for $22 /1000. A vendor from Jeffersonville had pretty good prices on powders too.

I was there today. It was my first trip to this show. I didn't find anything to buy but my buddy did. I talked with Mrs. G for a bit. I would go back to this show again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to make it.

I was there and there were mostly private displays selling used handguns & accessories. There's always a few out-of sight price tags but otherwise things were about normal. As usual, there were some very expensive Colts and Smith Wessons handguns. I was surprised to fine the SIG dealer in Zionsvill with a case full of the SIg's 1911-22LR's. They're allocated and none of the stores can get them to sell. I saw several pieces changing hands in the hallways. But, I didn't see the vendors selling a lot. I like these small local shows. You meet some fine folks and see different things and it doesn't take all day to see it all.

Don't gripe about seemingly outragous prices until you start bargaining. Most of these private dealers leave room for moving. Why start cheap if some dude is too stupid to bargain and will pay the outrageous price?

How serious can anyone be about selling when it's a cash only, no debit card gun show? I did see a Radom 45 in a private collection that was pretty nice and one of my childhood friends was selling some M1's at a reasonable price but for me the best part of the show was checking out the historical photos of the 38th Infantry out in the lobby.

We were there this morning and yes, some of the prices were a little high. I did pick up an m16 bcg for $100 in addition to a few other small parts. Someone else snagged an alice pack for dirt cheap while I was walking around debating the purchase. For $6 admission and no parking fee, I'll attend the show again in the future.

Also made it by Bradis afterwords and picked up a few small parts there as well. Was surprised to see they're magpul handguards priced the same as psa, without the shipping and actually in stock. Once my barrel shows up, I'll definately be back to pick up a set.

I was there this afternoon. Some people are crazy pricey but most are willing to haggle. Some will even haggle quite a bit if you bring in an interesting trade.

Oh I tried to bargain with a few of them, they just blew me off.

One guy had a .40 XDM with 3.8 inch barrel....stainless and black. Asking $699.00....this is the same exact gun you can buy at Gander Mountain for $659...brand new in the box. Know what he told me? He said if I could get that pistol new in the box for $659 he'd buy ten of them off me. I just smiled and walked away. It's a free country, right?

I wish I had gone with cash.... there were some damn nice k98's there that I'd love to replace my R.C. with. Guess I'll wait and try the Show of Shows next week?

Guess someone's always gotta complain, but I really enjoyed this show. Crowded, but not stifling like the Indy1500. Interesting ammo and oddball surplus pieces here and there, too. The funny (ironic?) thing is the only purchase I made today was a brick of Swede surplus ammo out at Wannamakers.

I thought prices were high on most things. I spoke to the guy in the corner of the small room that had a couple of Garands and a 1917 that were competively priced. Those were the only things I would have bought today if I had the funds. I had my 5 digit serial number Colt 1911 in a box, so I could get some more GI mags that would work in it. Had a dealer tell me it wasn't worth the $600 I paid for it, because it was Arsenal Refrbished in 1985 and not original. No reloading supplies that I needed, so I just left and went to PSS.

Sigasaurus and I made it out to the show early this AM. Good show, crowded in some areas, other than that there was room to move about... I picked up a new Colt mag for my RIA 1911, and a cheap-o Stiletto knife for the Boss Lady to throw in her hand bag. Sigasaurus picked up a couple springs for his AR builds, and a Stiletto knife too.

After milling about for a couple hrs, we made our way to John's Famous Stew for a bite to eat... +1000 for the Supreme Tenderloin, mighty tasty:rockwoot:
