I don't mind DST. The extra daylight in the summer is better than in the winter. I am inside out of the cold, who cares if its light or dark.

Summer months its nice to be outside!

I don't mind DST that much. I always try to play at least one round of golf in the middle of it where I'm walking of the 18th green at 9:30, just cause I can.

I grew up in WI. So I'm used to it. When I moved here it drove me nuts to always be shifting times compared to what my other family members around the country.
Am I on the same time as them or am I ahead of them now?
Anyway as others have said no big deal either way. Might as well be with the rest of the nation.

In all reality, if this country could agree on ANYTHING, it should be to do away with DST as it is really no longer necessary. Trunk to tail--nothing new here.

I just don't understand the butthurtedness over DST. It REALLY REALLY sucked being the only state in the country that didn't change. Doing business with other timezones was a colossal pain in the ass. I don't like DST as I see no economic benefit to it, but it made absolutely no sense for Indiana to be the only state that didn't change its clocks.

Every six months we have this same exact thread. Isn't it about time that Hoosiers either got over it, or started campaigning on a national level to eliminate DST altogether? Stop blaming Mitch for aligning our clocks with the rest of the country.

What bothers me is we started doing this to save energy. A study reported a 1% RISE in energy usage after IN switched to DST. Do it for business or conformity reasons, but don't feed us the green BS.

I heard farmers prefer it light at 5am instead of 11p. We have a few of those in this state.

I agree. I"m not one for working till 10 everynight because it's light out. I'd rather have it light earlier in the day. Even if it gets dark at 9pm it's still plenty of daylight. I also think we're closer to Chicago and it would make more sense to be in the central timezone.

Why are the farmers following the clock instead of the sun? The chickens don't care what time it is.

Exactly, so why should everyone else? Extra hour of daylight? THERE IS NO EXTRA HOUR OF DAYLIGHT. Gawd. You're just putting a different number on it. I refuse to stop being an ass about how this is approximately the stupidest idea anyone has ever actually implemented. It was just starting to get light out for the morning bus routes, now we'll be plunged back into darkness for a few more weeks. Oh, and Arizona and Hawaii still have enough sense not to.

My sentiments exactly. It took me longer to get used to being on a different time than the rest of the USA 2x per year than it takes to change my clocks.

There's more people who need butthurtcream besides the ones blaming Mitch. It is what it is. Let it go. If you don't like it, campaign against it. If you like it, leave it. Me? Dunno. I have no issues going to work in the dark a little longer but don't necessarily care for going to bed in the daylight, either. I do not know why we are Eastern instead of Central, but I'll just go with the flow on this one. I really don't want more tax dollars spent researching it.
