Both are an eyesore. I dont really see the difference. Lets say, for the sake of argument, that the neighbor was ugly enough to scare off potential customers. What then?

This is why individual liberties are superior to property rights.

Problem: My neighbor's house is ugly.
Consequence: My property value is decreased.
Solution: The government should force my neighbor to make his house attractive.

Problem: My neighbor is obese and ugly.
Consequence: My property value is decreased.
Solution: The government should force my neighbor to become thin and attractive. You have stated clearly that you believe the first example merits force.

Does the second example also merit government force? Yes or No are the only acceptable answers. If the answer is yes, I'll give you credit for consistency. If the answer is no, please explain why the two situations are different.

I have told you over and over that there is no protection against what you consider ugly houses or ugly people. Asking me multiple times does not change the answer.

Well then I guess there is just no help for you. You clearly are so afraid of being wrong that you won't look at the truth right in front of you.

And yet, you refuse to see that there is absolutely no difference between an ugly neighbor driving away potential buyers and an ugly house with no siding driving away potential buyers.

Both deprive you of the profit you think you are entitled to.

Because an ugly neighbor does not drive away buyers. Unkempt houses do.

ETA: You seem to have missed the part where I called your scenario outrageous and said that it had no bearing on this situation.

    Somewhere over the rainbow
Fact: Black neighbors drive away potential customers.

White flight: Property values, neighborhood quality most often cited

So what do you do? Do we allow these people to lower your property value and misuse their property by living there while black?

is not welcome as my neighbor.

I don't know where you're from, but my neighborhood is like the UN and property values are quite high. The only white flight seems to be arrivals, and not departures.

Exposing the inconsistencies in your position is not trolling.

I'm sorry if you haven't thought it through to its logical conclusion.
There aren't inconsistencies. You are trying to manufacture inconsistencies. You feel that your comparison of an ugly human versus a house in poor condition is accurate. It isn't.

It is a time proven fact that having houses in your neighborhood will drive down property values. It is a time proven fact that properties in disrepair can lead to risks beyond economical such as health and safety. Ugly neighbors do none of these.

Can you honestly say that you have EVER heard someone say, "I would buy here but that neighbor sure is ugly," huh? Don't worry, I'll wait for your logical well thought out answer, that will make no sense to anyone buy you and a handful of your buddies.

Don't worry, he does this frequently. He will argue an illogical and irrational point of view until everyone else just gives up. Then he will claim victory, because he is smarter than us.

It's a time proven fact that black neighbors drive away buyers. I provided the evidence already.

    So? What now?
