This is not a spam email or circulated BS story. This was copied and pasted from McMillan Group's FB page this morning (4/20/12)....
    -------------------------------------------------------------------

McMillan Fiberglass Stocks, McMillan Firearms Manufacturing, McMillan Group International have been collectively banking with Bank of America for 12 years. Today Mr. Ray Fox, Senior Vice President, Market Manager, Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking came to my office. He scheduled the meeting as an “account analysis” meeting in order to evaluate the two lines of credit we have with them.

He spent 5 minutes talking about how McMillan has changed in the last 5 years and have become more of a firearms manufacturer than a supplier of accessories.

At this point I interrupted him and asked “Can I possible save you some time so that you don’t waste your breath? What you are going to tell me is that because we are in the firearms manufacturing business you no longer what my business.”

    “That is correct” he says.

I replied “That is okay, we will move our accounts as soon as possible. We can find a 2nd Amendment friendly bank that will be glad to have our business. You won’t mind if I tell the NRA, SCI and everyone one I know that BofA is not firearms industry friendly?”

“You have to do what you must” he said.

“So you are telling me this is a politically motivated decision, is that right?”
Mr Fox confirmed that it was. At which point I told him that the meeting was over and there was nothing let for him to say.

I think it is import for all Americans who believe in and support our 2nd amendment right to keep and bear arms should know when a business does not support these rights. What you do with that knowledge is up to you. When I don’t agree with a business’ political position I can not in good conscience support them. We will soon no longer be accepting Bank of America credit cards as payment for our products.

    Business as usual for BoA.
This is not the first time they have tried to put the squeeze on a gun industry related business.
I dropped them two years ago for exact same thing.

Good work 4PWW9! I'm proud to say I haven't had business with them, ever, but I'm currently checking to make sure my mortgage company hasn't been sold to them. It seems that crap happens a lot.

brcrbn, Please follow up with us in this thread once you find a new bank to do business with. I think Bank of America simply thinks gun owners are a portion of society they can turn a cheek on.... dilligence could prove them wrong.

Folks need to dump BOF for many many reasons, with the gun aspect the iceing on the cake. Find a local community bank or credit union. Any large bank is a good idea to stay away from.

I will try to find one tonight.

The McMillans are good people and life members of the National Predator Hunters Association, which I serve as President of, and I felt this was a chance to reciprocate their support.

I dumped them years ago but not because of their anti-2A stance. I dumped them for their extremely crappy customer service.

I went to Mcmillan's Facebook page and read the post. Then I went to BoA's Facebook page and gave them hell - which was promptly removed about 90 seconds after I posted it.

    Clay,

See if you can find a way to contact some level of management with your reasoning for cancellation. Perhaps a copy/paste of McMillan's open letter would end up on the right person's desk?

I have a bass rewards credit card through them. After the recent article I read*, and now this, that card is going to have to go by the wayside.

*For more 'fun' reading on the shenanigans this company does, check out Rolling Stone's article on them here: Too Crooked to Fail

First Bank Richmond in Richmond Indiana is a small locally owned bank and they are going to contribute to the FNRA Dinner this year. Give them a call.

Agreed! However, I did go this route about 8 years ago. They sold our mortgage to Countrywide, who in turn sold it to BOA. I have twice contacted our local Credit Union and the rates are just too high for me to switch.

    Trust me, I want to!

Glad I don't bank with them, I use a local family owned large bank from my region. Thats funny that the dumped the because of the 2A, especially since DoD uses them. I had a CC from BoA through the Corps, to use for travel stuff, never used it though.
