Picked up my Saiga IZ 340 today from Bradis. Almost done converting, just waiting on trigger and bullet guide. I plan on welding up the holes and refinishing it in flat black.

I keep tossing around the idea of trying the Tromix charge handle. Not that there's anything wrong with the standard one, but the Tromix just looks super user friendly, and well, kinda bad ass. IMO

By the time you buy the parts, you would be money ahead to buy one with the front end already converted. Not to mention sparing yourself a major pain in the ass.

I love working on firearms. But I'm not going to spend extra money for bolt on parts, when I could have a factory built one for less. I mean were talking AK-74 front sight base / thread adapter, hand guard, gas tube, and and retainer for around $100 more. And if you don't want a bolt on hand guard retainer, your going to need to remove the gas block.
