The biggest problem I see with the rule is the adituded of the long time ingo members when they accuses people of resurerecting old post to get their counts up, but then if you start something new or put forth an idea they swiftly tell you that this has another topic that's been put to bed or tried leaving nothing for new members to add to the conversation. I started on another gun forum at the same time as this one there I have nearly 200 post and I feel welcome here I feel bullied. Just my:twocents:
What you say is true. I had a member give me some snide comment before I had 50 posts about the lack of quality of one of my posts. I simply told him I wasn't here to shop in the classifieds, I liked the forum and I didn't care about the 50 post rule. I never heard another word after that.

As much as I like it here NOW, I had a bad time in the beginning too. I felt bullied quite a bit, mostly because I walked into some pet peeve or something of the people of the site. Again, I have learned the intricacies of this site and I get along fine now BUT......

I work for a man who is a former Marine Corps staff sargeant of 12 years and he currently owns and operates two corporations. He is an exceptionally intelligent and kind person. I got his firearm hobby in full swing about two years ago and I referred him to INGO. In short, he was repeatedly bullied for various "reasons" by other members over things that if someone had jsut taken the time to INFORM him of the rule or whatever, he would have been golden. Instead, he no longer comes to this website.

I know some here want to believe that every person who is new here who "breaks the rules" is stupid, arrogant, trolling, or a troublemaker but it is simply not true. If you doubt me, look how easy it is for a newbie to step in the OC/CC crap puddle around here. There is some pretty serious group-think here that will batter an unknowing person quickly.

That's a bummer. This place could use a few more Marines.

And ones that could take 5 minutes to read the FAQ might not have their feelings hurt. Seriously i read it and don't recall having too many posts deleted. I may have had a few Nice Gun comments removed, but i didn't cry about it they were nice and i still think they are.

Reading the FAQ does not stop members from being rude to you. Having posts deleted has nothing to do with it. There are a few here that will take most any opportunity to pounce on others for really stupid things, or that assume they all new members are simply trying to get to the classifieds.

I've had PM conversations with more than one Marine new to INGO. Well, I call them "conversations", but they were more like me being screamed at because I refused to allow them to do whatever the hell they felt like while they were here. I'm sorry if your friend felt like he was bullied, but I'm not THAT sorry. The rules are easy to find and, in fact, are required reading to join the site. If someone chooses to ignore the information and then expect the membership to spoon-feed it to them, that's on them. They need to take responsibility for their own actions and stop blaming everyone else.
