How much should I expect to pay for a new beretta 92fs? This will be my first gun purchase and from my research it seems that $625 is the going rate. I just want to make sure I'm not missing out on some info somewhere that could save me a hundred bucks or something.

A year or two ago I saw them all the time just South of $600, but now they seem to be just North of $600.

So $625 isn't too bad, but I would try to get a new one for $595 or less. This was going to be my next gun, but I decided to go with a 1911 in lower caliber (saved enough shooting it to pay the for gun already, but I think I will take the .45 back out - perhaps today).

That helps a lot. Thanks! Maybe I can get them to throw in a box of ammo or something.

Depending on what model and finish, youre looking between $600-$700...new.

A few models creep past the $700 mark, but for the most part youre going to be below that.

My stainless slide 96fs with novak sights brand new was $715 or $725...I dont remember which....but I havent seen another one like it.

    God bless

You might give ZX Guns a call. They might be a little drive for you, but if your car gets reasonable fuel economy, their prices are usually way below others.

Unless you're planning on keeping it as an unfired safe queen I would recommend looking for a nice used one. They're always popping up for sale and some are unfired. I got a really nice used one for $400 about a year ago.

I'd buy used if you do plan on shooting it. You can save a lot of money for a gun that has been barely used. Also, you can buy nearly every single part on the gun to replace for fairly cheap as it gets more heavily used. Typically, you can buy used but in like new condition for around $400-$450. I would also recommend contacting Indy Tactical Supply in Mooresville to get a quote on ordering one. They quoted me $525 for a new one not too long ago. I don't know what they would quote now, but he is typically cheaper than even PSS.

I wouldn't mind that at all (in good condition). But I've been unable to find one.

Unfortunately, my truck gets a mere 12mpg. So roughly $60 for the trip doesn't end up being worth it. I should buy a smart car, THEN a Beretta.

Then I would stick with a used one personally. They are a superb design (obviously, otherwise you probably wouldn't want one). You can save a lot of money buying used and still get in like new condition. Really, the only reason to stick to buying new is if you plan on leaving it in its box and making it a safe queen. But, it's your purchase and your opinion, simply a matter of what you prefer to do. :twocents:

Now if i could only find one used that someone wants to part with. :) I'm not comfortable with using a site such as gunbroker.com. I need to be able to see what I'm about to purchase. Just the way I prefer.

That's fine if it's what you prefer. I've saved a LOT of money through gunbroker and only ever had one problem and that wasn't even with the item, just the seller not contacting me. Other than that you'll just have to babysit ads here and Armslist.com

Really? Not according to their website. It's listed at $660. Add the drive from Fort Wayne and I'll have to pass.

Sorry about that! Didn't check their website. Bought a 92FS from them a while back and it was very reasonable, but it was at a gun show.

Oh well, there are a couple of gun shows in your area, you might try them, but then again with my luck trying to help someone.. :dunno:

Good luck anyway, they are great pistols and I am sure you will enjoy it once you do get one. :yesway:

Find a local gun shop who does business with Davidson's and then see what kind of price Bud's has. Remember that if you buy from Bud's you're going to have an extra fee for credit card plus whatever your local FFL charges for a transfer.

As of 2 weeks ago, my LGS sold them NIB for $539. It would be higher to include shipping and FFL transfer fees on your end. If interested, PM me and I will send his contact info to you.
