For whatever it is worth, I have been wearing a Cabela's Double Duty, several days a week, every week, for the past 2 years. Its still holding up very well. I think your Double Duty will surprise you. Its more durable than you think. Not saying its as good as a Galco or a Beltman, but for $20 its a true bargain....

Currently on sale: web price $17.99 :D

I can not say enough good about my beltman. I don't wear it daily however. For range use it is hard to beat the nylon belts like a wilderness instructors or the 5.11. I find myself using the wilderness belt for casual wear. I also have a single thickness Taugua and it is not suitable for a heavy gun.

I like the looks of that double duty and for $20, wow.

I ordered the Cabela's double duty the same day as Esrice and have been wearing it daily since. His review is spot on. Wasn't sure I liked it at first, but it is growing on me.

I will add that Cabela's recommends that you order a belt 2 sizes larger than your waist. I like to carry IWB, so I ordered one 4 sizes larger and am glad that I did.

I also own Blackhawk and Wilderness belts, the double duty is my first leather gun belt. I am thinking of ordering another one in black (mine is brown) while they are still on sale.

The Beltman made my first belt truly intended for carrying a gun and other gear. I wore it for a long, long time. It was a prototype with a steel band (I think it was the kind of band used to bind heavy loads like bricks) between two layers of leather. The only reason I'm not still wearing it is because sweat during a couple of summers destroyed it. This is inevitable with leather if you're a sweater and not a reflection of the Beltman's fine products.

Once cost effective solution that some overlook is the Uncle Mike's instructor's belt. It's a clone of the Wilderness instructor belt, complete with the polymer stiffener between the layers of nylon webbing. The best feature: you can get it for under $25 at places like opticsplanet.com. Available in any color you want as long as you want black.

No one has mentioned them yet, but Galco makes incredible belts. Yes, they are VERY expensive. My first one lasted over 10 years. The second one I just bought about a month ago from Midwest. They were having a sale of Galco products (40% off). Well worth it.

Nice review! Too bad I just joined forum tonight or I would have donated our BULLBELT brand gun belts for review. Great info though and there are some good belts out there.

Yes I am open to sending our belts for independent review no problem. Check out our site: Our BULLBELT brand comes in single, double, double with kydex, and yes we are the manufacturer right here in Northern Indiana. Oh and our SuperBioBelt is the indestructible belt mentioned and I can provide one of those if someone wants to review it.

Well we sure would like to accomodate everyone but leather is a bit expensive these days! I'm getting a few private messages but I'm getting a pop-up that says I don't have enough posts to respond to all of them so I will certainly welcome emails to my company email: alexd@daltechforce.com Thank you and I apologize if you did not get my return post. hmmm, the bio belt sounds like just what I need... I'd love to do a review of one of those bad boys... hmmm... size 46 with a biothane keeper loop. I'll have to get one of those once I've got another full time job. :rockwoot:

I also have one of the Cabela's belts that I've worn every single day for the past 2 years. I actually need to punch a hole or 2 into it as I've lost a bit of weight this summer, but it has held up great. It obviously shows some wear in the 3 o'clock position where my holsters mostly ride, but I have no plans of changing it out anytime soon.

The double duty belt is now on sale at cabelas for $17.99.
No connection to cabelas looks like they might be closing it out.

    UPDATE

INGOer lovemachine has been kind enough to send me a Wilderness 1.5" 5-stitch polymer-lined instructor belt to evaluate. I'll be including it, along with a Bullhide Belts BioThane belt, in a future update. :yesway:

    Excellent review!!!

I have the 5.11 belt and agree 100% on the deterioration of the finish. Mine has also worn significantly at the point where it bends when I'm threading it up. That point has zero rigidity left. I wear this belt every day and love it outside of these two issues.
