I'm glad the clerk is going to recover.

Now Don calling somebody a kook that cracks me up.

"I've been here 40 years. This is the gun business. You have a kook every now and then," Davis said.

Wow it looks like some people here need to read the OP fully and click on links before posting a reply...
Well, in their defense, the media wasn't providing much information at first and there was a LOT of speculation. In fact, the first article simply said there was a shooting at Don's guns and a news crew was on the way to get information. The article I read wasn't updated with all of the information until 4:15. Up until that point, the most being reported was that 2 were shot and 1 of the 2 was dead, with no information on who or why.

Never trust the media to get it right. Just because someone shoots doesn't mean they are robbing the place. Could be homicidal, suicidal, or given the circumstances...both.

Good for the employee. Sucks he has to go through that, but at least he's alive and still has a future.

I just saw on the news that someone shot their own chest. I have no idea what's going on there I don't care. Won't see me going near there ever!

Whatever happens at Don's will never surprise me. Im glad to hear the employee will be ok. But Don's Guns is a nightmare. Poor excuse of a gun store and gun range. I stopped in there one time and will never go back. The door that goes in to the gun range was propped open. Everytime someone shot a gun in the range it echoed in the store. Made me extremely nervous and resulted in me leaving quickly.

Ben's a decent guy trying to support a family on :twocents: from ddavis. It's great he's alive but it's reported that he's still in critical condition--and then there's rehab. And who knows if he'll have a full recovery? He andhis family could use some prayers.

Well it does beg the question. What was the motive here? He walk up and shot the clerk not once but twice? Doesn't sound like a robbery, more like a suicide or something.

Ben is an example of the guy we are all supposed to be behind. The guy that deploys his weapon properly to defend himself.

As much as I despise Don's Gun's for many reasons we as a gun forum and should be showing support for this employee that did what was right.

Prayers sent for Ben's recovery and for his family.

    the need to protect

to me this is one more reason why we need to protect ourselves....because there is no way to expect cops to be everywhere....plus it wouldn't stop some who think they are invincible. carry to protect and serve I think should be all our jobs....:D
