I think if anything he might go after magazines but gun sales are to strong to mess with and in this economy it's probably the only industry still growing.

Think about it, rifle sales are a boost to the economy! A majority of guns sold and taxed in the USofA are the types of rifles Obama is targeting. I personally feel like if Obama is re-elected, they will target the magazines, not the actually rifles themselves.

    What do you guys think?

I didn't used to think so, but now that you've brought up them being a boost to the economy he probably will want to ban them. He stands in the way of anything that will boost the economy.

    To All,

I would like to see the option that he will "do nothing" one way or the other.

President Obama is NOT antigun. He is NOT progun either. I just don't think it is anywhere near his agenda. He doesn't care.

He says certain things to pay lip service to his base, just like every other politician, then he moves on.

If you look at his entire political history he has not pushed an antigun agenda. He has pushed other things I do not agree with but he is not Bloomberg.

This is paranoia pushed by the NRA to boost income. If you listen to them Pres Obama is the a holy terror. What they fail to mention is Gov Romney isn't exactly the paragon of gun rights advocacy. On many issues the NRA is correct to worry about antigun politicians. I just don't see Pres Obama as one of them.

    Regards,

    Doug

I can see a AWB being passed, and by Executive Order if need be. Or, increased taxes on ammo, guns, etc. Or even making it harder to purchase a gun.

What I find most amuzing is that Obama even stated during the last debate that most crimes involving firearms in Chicago involved cheap handguns and not "assault weapons". Yet, all any candidates ever talk about is "assault weapons". wtf????

O has been working the UN to get his weapon ban pushed thru. If he gets another chance, he will continue that path so he can look like " the UN made me do it".

We are all in trouble if he gets in again

He can't do anything. I would venture to say that no President in the near future could do anything. They would need the support of Congress, and Congress is to scared of not being reelected. If we put term limits on Congress, then maybe something could happen as "scorched earth" type exit, but I really don't see Congress voting themselves out of a job.

For all of you who think he can't do anything without the control of the house, you are incorrect! Think Sania Sotomayer and Elana Kagen then come back with your foolish responses. Control of the courts will "fundamentally transform America".

There is a lot of mass hysteria these days about what Obama will do if re-elected. These fears are not unfounded, but I think people will be in for a slow surprise. I don't really see another AWB being passes, especially if the GOP continues to control the House.

Obama is sneaky...and he's silent. Expect him to slowly slip in new regulations under the nose of Congress. This can be achieved in many way, but mostly through the use of BATFE bureaucratic regulations (i.e. bans on certain types of ammo, magazines, and use of varying fees). These regulations will not happen overnight, and they will be put into force incrementally. There won't be opportunities to protest, petition, or for Congress to intervene until it is too late.

The most devastating thing that a second Obama Administration will do is use their appointment of Federal Judges and Supreme Court Justices to erode the Second Amendment. This is far and away the most dangerous weapon in Obama's anti-gun arsenal. The repercussions of judicial decisions can take years, decades, or even centuries to correct.

Don't make the mistake of thinking at Obama is going to ban guns his first day in office!

Judges still can't create laws, and there aren't any looming gun laws that we need struck down (other than the NFA), and and as said before, Congress won't pass anything any time soon.

It's pretty funny to go back and read threads about Obama from 2008 to see just how unfounded and wrong everyone was. Threads from 4 years ago make it sound like Obama was going to ban all guns on his first day of office.

They can interpret the meaning of the 2nd amendment without passing any new laws.
The US Supreme Court can reverse a decision on an earlier case by making a contradictory decision on a current case.
