Thanks, I just renewed with it. Was going to yesterday, then I saw the same range bag as a free gift that I got the last time. The BPS card is something new and different.

I had been planning on joining, thanks for the push!

Also, I'm sure the NRA paid closer to $15 for the gift cards.

They probably made sure they gave away the cards just above their COS% in order for them to make money, while still allowing the NRA to make money on this deal.

Bass Pro Shops get the tax write off, the NRA does lose $25. They need numbers, the more numbers the better. No one pays attention to an organization that has no members. :patriot:

If Bass Pro is getting a write off for donating cards, then the NRA is not losing the $25.

Plus, the NRA probably doesn't pay $25 for the $25 gift card.

I'm guessing that Bass Pro is getting some advertising as well as probably a listing of NRA members and associated info for some free direct marketing in exchange for providing the cards.

I'm a life member but Bass Pro's rep just went up in my book if they are willing to help sponsor something like this.

I signed up. There is a lot of bad blood against the NRA on another thread, but I think they help at least some and I have to be a member if I want to join my local pistol and rifle club this Spring.

A: Contributions, gifts, or membership dues made or paid to the National Rifle Association of America are not refundable or transferable and are not deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax purposes.

So why would Bass Pro Shops be any different?:dunno:

I don't think the NRA paid full price for the cards, but it doesn't matter. They are looking for more numbers.

EDIT: All signed up, thanks OP for the link. I like the EPL lifetime member option, going to do that next year probably.

I realized when I signed up for a year that I am past the age where it would pay to become a lifetime member.:)
