I thought it was a good rally, Didn't really care for the Alex Jones guy who spoke about how many times he had been arrested with OW or the fella who yelled out "Join the Indian Militia Corps", or all the anonymous masks.

I would also suggest staying in one spot, right after everyone started the march around the capital the news showed up and started taking video of 3 people standing with signs and we stopped them and told them that everyone was marching around the capital and to hang tight.

Other then that I thought it was a good rally, lots of good signs, people were curtious to pedestrians...runners, and everyone followed the state laws without causing negative news. Unfortunately TN didn't fair so well on that front.

Man carrying AR-15 arrested at gun rights rally near Capitol - WSMV Channel 4

I thought it worked well for a weekday event, lots of people downtown and alot of visability. People in office buildings giving the thumbs up and one thumbs down. People Honking as they drove buy, one giving us the finger. All in all it was a good day!

Was power and light truck that gave us a finger...I got the guys card from Fox 59 he said he wants to be informed about this next time...I told him he needs to do a spot on guns rights and announce this on his when he does his spot. I am trying to start a group Families for the Second Amendment. since the million moms for gun rights is such a flop...need your help guys.

No one was in charge. It was a true grassroots event.

Keep your eyes peeled for another event in the spring MAC and I will be helping to put together, again, grassroots we won't have anyone coopting these events for their own agendas. RKBA. No politics, no groups trying to claim victory or make money off of these events.

    We The People.

Also, we are looking to put together an event at Pete V's office up in NW Indiana.

We cannot allow his blatant disregard for the Constitution and elitist responses to our letters and calls go unanswered.

He needs to know the people of his district will be watching his votes and we will hold him accountable for his actions.

Will be glad to help...I have started a face book group for now call Families for Second Amendment Rights...Just another avenue to get the word out....

Hey, for anyone in the Bloomington area, there is a similar demonstration planned for Feb. 23...

    Here's the info on FB:

    https://www.facebook.com/events/328966097223293/

I'm confused by the nebulous statements on the event page:

"This event will be in solidarity to the Constitution of the United States, as the legal hold to any contemporary legislation in the United States. The Constitution is still a ratified document and cannot legally be altered without being challenged first.

    [snip]

Come speak for or against the 2nd Amendment. People can choose to speak publicly if they wish."

I'm confused by the nebulous statements on the event page:

Don't be confused. It's in Bloomington and is definitely an anti-2A rally. They are even suggesting a check-in station for firearms. Who in their right mind would turn their gun in to ANYONE, let alone in Bloomington?

Maybe we should try and make a big turnout for those of us FOR it? :dunno:

I bet we could get better numbers. I bet it also wouldn't be portrayed that way by the media.

Obviously it would be absolutely necessary for us to be very calm and nice.

Well of course they are suggesting it... doesn't mean anyone will comply. I'm probably going to go, unless of course they show their true Bloomington colors and begin to go rabidly liberal!

Of course. I think if we can get nearly 1000 people at the state cap. to be calm, civil and polite, surely we could do it in Bloomington.

I'm definitely an optimist, but if anyone thinking about going has never been spat upon without retaliating, I would avoid this one. There was no opposition at The State Capital the other day. If you go, I may make the trip down there.

ahh, that's where the fun begins... IIRC spitting on someone is considered assault... I would simply demand that charges be filed upon the spitter. Of course I'm going to want to look that up first... If I can't take a little dissenting opinions then I shouldn't have become "awakened" ;) I tend to be passionate in my views, but I do not believe that I am antagonistic... I'll wait a few more days before I fully commit to going, but right now I am planning on it. I'd love to see some of my brethren in the ranks.

Further down the page, the event admin said the following:

Being in solidarity to the Constitution, is best said at supporting the document as a whole, not pulling out any one part. However, this Day of Resistance is standing up to current legislation on the table proposing unconstitutional gun control, specifically Sen. Feinstein's bill. This is not meant to be a page for debate, though both sides are welcome to attend the event to increase political innovation from political minds.

I thought perhaps English isn't his/her first language. It's hard to say. If I can't understand the objective, it's not worth my time.

    .
PA system would be great or a bigger bull horn, only thing about a PA system is electricity and feed back.

You can form a line completely around the state house.... There is one side, I believe on Senate Street that connected the Plaza to the State House was told if you go in that area you would be arrest at the January 19 rally.
Plus the MSM loves those time when people are spread out...make it easy to say no one was there.

Fife and dumb, and maybe a chant of some sort. Real simple...I can't think of one. Maybe someone else can.
The area between the Statehouse and the Government center is state property. If you are carrying a firearm there you will be arrested.
There are portable self contained PA systems that work very well.
My thoughts is that there wasn't any real coordination of people and events. In the future an appointed spokesperson who is learned and articulate would be beneficial. Plus them having experience on camera is a plus. With the rally starting at 10 everyone should've been there by 9:30. The media arrived at 10 and there wasn't as many people as there was at 10:30. "Early is on time. On time is late."

let me know when and I'll jump through hoops again to find a way to be there. it cost me $180 this time ($60-gas $20-parking and $100-bribe) plus I payed for lunch. not to mention the wages lost for a full day off both jobs and the $80 spent printing up posters to make signs from.

My thanks goes to everyone that showed up. We can say we were there and did our part on February 8th. However, February 8th is not where the fight stops. I hope everyone who attended will be at the next rally, and the next one, and as many more as it takes. We also need to do our part each week and contact (call, mail, email, fax, send smoke signals, etc.) to our elected officials. Ruger makes it easy to email them, it only takes about 2 minutes.

Are you suggesting that butt stroking said assailant would be frowned upon?
