Truly disgusting, but given where this dirtbag's from it shouldn't be too surprising. Here's hoping his candidacy costs him a lot of money and that he loses to a democrat or other socialist who we can expect this kind of crap from. And here's hoping the gun owners in his state show some back bone and vote for a candidate who isn't anti-gun. Further proof that there are anti-gun republicans out there.

This is an example of thanks for the service you gave while you were in the military but shut the **** up now! No one in this country is above anyone else. We signed up to serve and did our duty. The fact that he is a former seal doesn't mean crap to me. Look at turn coat John McCain! Way to go from hero to zero!
Usually you don't see this type of professional getting this type of issue so wrong though.

I smell a bunch of money being thrown at the guy but only if he agrees to an AWB. Pretty much the norm up in that neck of the world. Peter King from New York is a douche of the highest order.

It just looks like another SOB Politician saying what the potential voters want to hear. I'd bet he doesn't have any stance on anything when it comes out of his mouth for votes.
I'd like to get him in a bar and see what his real stance is after about a dozen shots and half again as many beers. Even then I'm not sure I could believe anything that comes out of his mouth.

Former navy Seal or not, why is it surprising that a Republican candidate from Massachusetts is a left wing idiot who doesn't believe in the US Constitution?
Before i even read the story i KNEW he would be from the NE or the West.

If you haven't read any of Matt Bracken's books, you should pick them up. His response to Mr. Gomez, from Facebook . . . .

"I just posted this on Gabby Gomez' FB page.

I graduated from BUD/S Class 105 in 1979 as an officer, and took a NavSpecWar platoon to Beirut in 1983. I mention it only as my bona fides to address you. I am extremely disappointed that a former SEAL officer has apparently sold out for perceived political gain. (And please, don't tell any former SEALs that your wife changed your mind about firearms and the Constitution!)

As two men with similar training and experience with firearms, we both know very well that in the ultimate test, the difference between slaves or subjects and free men is the right to keep and bear arms that are similar to those carried by the King's men, the police, the military. Don't tell me that the 2nd Amd was written to protect duck hunters or target shooters! In fact, the American Revolution began at Concord and Lexington when the King's soldiers marched to confiscate the arms and gunpowder of American civilians.

Mr. Gomez, spare us your "I defended the Constitution" blather. We see through your politically expedient conversion to the dark side. You are now standing firmly on the side of King George and every other dictator who has smashed freedom, or tried to smash freedom, by disarming their "unruly peasants" in the name of "public safety." (BTW, did you know that the bloody mass-murderers of the French Revolution, who also disarmed their peasants--before executing them--were actually called "The Committee of Public Safety?")

I'm very ashamed of and disappointed in you, former SEAL or not, and I will do what I can to expose your selling out to the forces of rampant big-government statism. We don't want to live in a nation where the government holds a monopoly on meaningful firearms. We already know about many other countries that disarmed their populations before oppressing them. Just in the last century, Turkey, the USSR, Germany, China and a score of other nations disarmed their populations in the name of "public safety," and we know what happened next.

We all saw the movie about a nation that was made nearly gun-free, except for the police and the military. It was called Schindler's List, and you will not get us on those trains, at any time in the future, unless and until you disarm us--the hard way. We will not be led like sheep into the slaughter pens because in a moment of foolish optimism we believed the sweet lies of socialist politicians. You want to take them? Molon Labe, sellout. Come and take them!

Actually, this is not the first ex-SEAL I've heard of who is pretty much a liberal. A certain sci-fi author up there in the northeast was very much for strict gun control in some online conversations we had as I recall. Must be something in the water - or maybe it's a congenital form of anemia.

Their are lots of mindless moral lacking ****s in the higher tier units of our military. This is how i know the gubment will always have foot soldiers to perform the most illegal of tasks against the American people. I do not believe it is a majority so their is still hope.

You gotta love it. If it was a conservative ex-SEAL you'd be kissing his ass. He gets to have a ******* opinion, he earned it and I certainly don't appreciate you calling a ******* ex-SEAL a dirt-bag. I don't care what his beliefs are. He EARNED his right to have an opinion moreso than me or many others on this forum. He put his life on the line to protect our right to have an opinion.

I'm not saying you gotta like or agree with the man, but don't trash a veteran like that just because he says something you don't agree with. If you're a true American and you appreciate every soldier who fought and sacrificed for your country, for my country, for our country then you'll retract your "dirtbag". Literally...it makes me sick to see that level of disrespect.

I find that particular choice of swear words sickening.
