They're both home safe and sound now. The 9 came back as nice as the 45 did. Hope to see if it shoots as good as the 45 tomorrow.

Gun made it home today .
    Shipped 8/30 logged in 9/3 , received 11/6 .
Never shot the gun much so really can't tell if the trigger is the same or worse than before I sent it off

I got my XDS-9 back around the middle of last week. I had only put maybe 40 rounds through it before sending it back for the upgrade, which I sent in right after Labor Day. The trigger feels a tiny bit heavier, but using snap caps, I think the break and reset is a bit more crisp. I'm probably going to trade or sell it though, as it was a bit of an impulse buy, and I can't handle the sub-compacts as well as the regular compacts.

Someone else mentioned they thought the mag release was a bit smoother after the upgrade. I agree with this, and the gun was clean and lightly lubed when it was returned... I stripped and cleaned it again, but couldn't see any "patch" evidence that it had been test fired.

Hopefully Mine, received Sept. 5, will be returned before Thanksgiving as they state. I will be putting it up for sale almost immediately, as I felt I was talked into buying something I really didn't want in the first place.

I'll be replacing it after Shot Show with something else, want to see what if anything, Walther has new and promising.

I have read so much negative stuff about the gun lately.. I dont really get it. just because it had a recall? are people just whining about the recall so much that they have convinced themselves that they dont like the gun? no disrespect intended, I just dont understand. I realize some have said the trigger pull was heavier, but i've also read where they couldnt tell the difference. one report (i cant site it) claimed they thought it was "crisper". if everyone is gonna dump their guns when they get em back, unless they are just absolutely crap, I would tell anyone curious about the XDS to buy one!

I sent my .45 off on 9-6 and called Springfield yesterday and a lady said they received it on 9-9 so it should be in the pre-Thanksgiving time frame. I believe she said they were currently up to guns received on 9-5. I started a post about seeing new 9mms at Buck's & Jakes in Evansville today. I looked at the one in the case and it has the roll pin in the grip safety. The serial number was 94xxxx something, definitely above the recall range. They didn't have a .45 but it was a thrill to see the 9.

The gun isn't the issue. As has been said by most in this thread repeatedly, the way Springfield handled it is the issue. I still love the gun itself even with a heavier trigger (measured from 6.5lbs before to 9lbs after). Yeah, some folks are selling off their guns for whatever reason, but most are just happy to get them back.

I'd buy another one of them in a heartbeat, but that's only because it's the only gun of its kind in its form factor (for the .45) and as such if I want a gun like this I have to deal with Springfield. But in the future if it is a choice between something Springfield makes and something someone other reputable company makes that is similar (which is not the case with the XDs), Springfield will not be my first choice.

My wife sent her 9 in on 9/3. They received it on 9/5. Got a message today that she will have it back on Tuesday, 11/12. She is VERY excited to to get her gun back. She loved it before it went back and hopes it didn't change much. She said she can live with a minor change to the trigger.

They received my 45 on 9/5 also and I got it back on 11/7.It does not seem any different to me, I also have a 9mm that needs to be sent back to come pair it to and they seem the same as in the trigger pull. And you get a free mag.

Thanks, but all I get after entering my serial is "your gun has been received." No date listed. I wonder, unless phoning about it, how others above stating date of reception know so, unless it's only revealed after the repair is complete?

I was wondering about the same thing. All mine says is that it was received. I sent mine on the 3rd of September and haven't heard a thing.

You should have got a tracking number from Fed-ex when you sent your gun in, that would tell you when it was received.
