I actually went and bought a Rock Island after owning some top end 1911. I love mine almost as much as the top end 1911. 0 issues and that is a good price.

So this is a better choice over the TRP operator I will be buying soon?

I have seen people answer "should I buy the TRP"? question with, buy an RIA and save yourself the money. So I guess that is a yeah...
Certainly not my answer as I have never owned or shot an RIA, nor plan on it, although this is pretty cheap...

It will not run as many rounds as the better built guns. It will wear and show it. Seen too many do this.

If you want a decent t"trunk" gun or carry these are OK if you get one that runs reliably. Test it with at least 200 rds. and if it runs through that....carry or park it for home defense.

Don't take all your advice from the gun snobs. If it fits your price range, it will amaze you. I will out perform many of the gun snobs guns. Check out the Rock Island subforum in 1911forum.

I feel like this answer is like high point critics. Well, my brother's cousins nephew twice removed boyfriend's turkish lover has one and it is a piece of crap. There is never first hand experience.

OP where are you located? You can handle my springfields and the RIA. You can shoot both too.

Better price quality parts to build it with before spending that much with the idea of building a good gun out of the frame and slide. You'll be into the same money as a better quality 1911.

    HHmmmm....gun snob. Really.

Buy it...bring it and prove it. I seriously doubt it will outrun any of my 1911's.

    He asked, he was answered.

Stand at the counter in the LGS sold a butt load of these and has backed off due to crap guns and pi$$ed off customers. Watch/listen/learn.
It is a crap shoot with these. 50/50 you get a good one or a POS. I have seen it.

OP....your money, do as you will. Personally I would save a bit more and get something a bit nicer.
