    FYI, INGO!

Ladies and gents, thought I'd share. This gun doesn't get a lot of attention or press that I can find, but I picked one up a few weeks ago and I'm HUGELY impressed. My particular unit is the black slide without manual safety in 9mm with night sights - and I paid only $459 plus tax! I've looked all over and haven't seen prices that compare to this sale - and love 'em or hate 'em, Midwest had plenty of 9mm and .40 versions in stock, at least when I got mine...

I think a lot of this little gun, and so does Hickok:

Wow, those are PHENOMENAL prices! I'm intrigued by the FNS/FNX as well, as I really just became aware of what they were within the last year. In talking to a couple different gun shop guys about them (FNS = Striker, FNX = Hammer), the message I've been getting is that FNH pistols are a better Glock.

How I wish they made a Compact, ala G19/G23 size. THAT would be tempting for sure.

Actually the slide area is almost identical to a G19/G23. Grip's a tad longer but for some reason it doesn't feel as big as the M&P or G17. On paper, its height is the same as those - 5.5" - but it feels smaller somehow.

I just about choked on my candy. I wouldn't be listening to those that say such nonsense

Careful, we're on INGO... :). From what I've seen so far comparing to the Glocks I've had, I've got to agree. Of course, I'm not one to go out and buy a gun just so I can put in a dozen or so aftermarket parts, so tinkerers may not be on the same page, but...

sights are EXCELLENT, grip texture is PERFECT, trigger reach is great for my short fingers.....I'm struggling to find a weakness, so far...

I never put much value on "The gunshop guy's" opinion, and I'm not in the market for another pistol, and have no experience with the FN myself, but when I was in the market, I asked my friend, who's opinion I do respect. He knows more about firearms than anyone I know, and he prefers the FN over the Glock...for what it is worth.

I'm far from an expert, but I probably could've been accused of being a Glock guy, in the past, and with good reason. I appreciate good designs and what works. This FN is, to me, what Glock could be if they weren't satisfied to sit on their "Perfection" laurels.

And, in the grand scheme, I submit the case might be made for FN knowing a thing or two about firearm design :)

I've got the FNP in 9mm .40 and .45. They are great guns, and the 9 is the gun I carry most of the time. Very comfy to shoot and just fits me well. I recommend them to anyone that asks. By the way the FNP is the first version which became the FNX.

I own an FNX Tactical .45, great pistol, and after watching the video on the FNS 9mm. It's now on my short list. I just recently sold a Glock 32, so I have a hole to fill in my collection.
This just may be the weapon of choice.

The FNS's in both 9mm and .40 i've had have been excellent. To me they feel good and point well, triggers are no worse than other polymers. They are often overlooked especially when priced higher than other polymers but at sale prices they are a good deal.

I have both an FNP9 and an FNS9, both outstanding, accurate and reliable handguns. These are 2 in my collection that I would never sell or trade.
