Beech Grove Firearms does not require disarming of their customers. They ask that loaded weapons stay holstered. If for some reason a loaded weapon has to be viewed, as if it will be a trade-in, they ask that store personal unload the weapon. Bradis has a "no loaded weapons in the store" policy. I wonder if you had refused, would he have pistol whipped you, Wyatt Earp style?

Bradis has a sign saying "Loaded weapons must remain holstered" or something to that effect.

Bare Arms has removed the facebook post about guns remaining holstered. Maybe they changed their mind already. Someone near by could check that out. I would love to walk in O/Cing my 8" .44 Mag.

Whoever is running things there seems to be doing a fine job of making himself look like a jackass. Blocking people on FacePalm just because he would rather disallow the conversation than have to confront the fact he is being a dick? Most middle school kids are more mature than than.

I was inclined to say, hey now, two sides to every story, but from first post to last the evidence is clear. This business is getting more publicity from this thread, for free, than it'll probably ever get again before it actually stops being prideful, apologizes, and changes its ways or ends up going out of business because of this. Something tells me that leo friends or not they are probably not going to be able to support him after he's run away all these opportunities to make money.

Indeed so. Pissing all over ~30K of their most likely potential customers isn't going to do them any favors.

We allow carry in the store and stock the FN. Located in Fishers. We do have limited hours and we are a small shop, but our online store is huge. And there's no transfer fee for buying from our online store. Gun Shop in Fishers Indiana

Indy ur site is having problems.

Online site isn't working, just as danmrt868 says. Clicking the link will bring you to the page, but none of the navigation links on the left will go anywhere.

Arrogance doesn't care. I believe the ownership there knows he's right, by definition, so he doesn't care what anyone else thinks. Not a sound business plan in my opinion but it's his shop. If this is how he chooses to run it, then that's his choice. My choice is to go elsewhere!

For all I know he makes enough money off his LEO clients to support the business and that's exactly what he wants.

There are just too many really great alternatives, many of which actively participate here on INGO.

This place wont be in business for long if this wild fire keeps spreading. They brought it upon themselves.

Unless there are enough LEO clients to keep the doors open, like jwh20 mentioned.

Also, I thought this interjection was awesome and hilarious! :+1:

I will definitely be checking it out once the site store is up and running again.

Well I have always voted with my money and my mouth. I have 3 sons that purchase firearms, (youngest one and I collect and have about 100) and have 2 or three friends that are collectors. I, nor my friends and family will ever darken the door of the Bare arms shop when I tell them about this.

Had that happened to me, I would have politely asked "do you want me as a customer, or do you feel I should not carry a firearm?" Dependent on his answer, I would have purchased the firearm or immediately left the shop after informing him that neither I nor those I know well would never "threaten" him again.

I did go into a pawn shop in Lafayette a year or so ago with a sign posted "no loaded firearms allowed". I entered and asked the owner what that meant. He replied - that doesn't pertain to people legally carrying. His reason for the sign was that people pawning or bringing firearms in to sell, were often carrying them in loaded and waving them around.

He had several laid on the counter pointed at him, when he inspected them he found they were loaded - some with the safety off!! So he posted the sign to reduce the chance of himself or a customer getting shot! He said some of the people bringing firearm knew nothing about them, inherited them etc. I couldn't fault his logic as he said I was always welcome with a loaded firearm. He also had a personal collection of firearms, and showed me a few. I did purchase an old Mauser from him that day - and will return...

Wow! That's a shady move by the Bare Arms team. TThey block people unless they say good things? That really makes me want to spread the word even more on how bad this place is.

I agree that was a dumb move. This is not a new business practice. Lots of businesses pay to have positive reviews written for them or have poor reviews taken down and excluded. I'm not saying this business paid for positive reviews... I'm saying that manipulating feedback is nothing new.

I've been in BA a few times, mostly to browse since they're not very far away. I bought a couple 223/556 bulk packs when they had them on sale once, but that's it. I never found their prices to be competitive, probably the closest to Gander prices I've seen for a LGS, and haven't been back in close to a couple years. On the other hand, I totally dig the guys over at M&J in Fortville, just a really nice, friendly place, and I've personally seen them do a really nice job sharing their knowledge with customers. I haven't bought anything from IGS in Fishers yet, but I really like those guys as well, and think their prices are very fair.

I'm still seeing some negative comments on their FB page, so they did not delete them all, including a recapture of the OP's post.
