The numeric designations of the channels no longer necessarily correspond to the old frequency allocations. They're more like names now, retained for familiarity. I'd have to look up what channel each "channel" is on, but they may not be VHF anymore. BRB. Yup, WTTV 4 is still in Bloomington, at UHF 674-680MHz, digital 48.

I remember when I was a kid when 6 & 13 swapped NBC & ABC. I think 6 went to ABC and it looked like we weren't going to have NBC until 13 went ahead and swapped.

We only watch WISH 8 on Tuesday night. Wife is NCIS junky. I will not miss any of the news crew.

It'll be interesting to see where LIN falls out in this turn of events. We no longer live in the world of three national networks and a handful of independents. They could turn out becoming an NBC affiliate, or maybe ESPN or the cartoon network....we'll just have to wait and see.

My wife has to watch the news. She would have it on all day If I let her.

Same here. Poor reception means fewer viewers which may have been part of the reason for the switch.

WTTV was one of the very first channels we got on cable tv years ago. Wasn't that the channel Sammy Terry was on? And Cowboy Bob?

I heard the reason is retransmission fees. Wttv agreed to pay CBS more.
It's more of the same BS they pull with cable & satellite.

I haven't gotten WISH on Terre Haute's Time Warner feed for a long time. I wonder how WTHI will take having another CBS affiliate to compete with in their own backyard on TWC.
