I have a hamilton beach. I am currently drinking central highlands coffee from Vietnam. Any other coffee I would have to put 6 scoops to get it nice and strong. This one I only use a 1/2 a scoop and the coffee is still strong, comes out very black and hits your colon faster than any other coffee I've had..

Keurig for me. I had a nice Mr. Coffee at one point a few years ago, but the consistency always varied a bit, where I get the same thing every time from Keurig. I like very strong coffee, so I usually drink Green Mountain Double Black Diamond, or a small size cup of Dark Magic or Big Easy Bold. I love the convenience of the Keurig over the Mr. Coffee style coffee makers. Because of acid reflux, I can only drink one or two cups a day, so the Keurig works out pretty well for me. I'm taking notes of a couple of the coffee varieties mentioned here so I can try some different things soon :)

Oh yeah, I have the old style Keurig with only two cup sizes, 7.25 oz and 9.25 oz (or something like that). I'll be really sad if it ever dies on me cause all the new ones are 6, 8, 10 and 12 oz for the sizes (or some mix of those).

I have the acid reflux issue myself. Prilosec in the morning and Zantac at night. I still only get about two to three cups a day. I don't have the time to spend a whole lot of time in the morning doinking around with time consuming methods. Pop in a K-cup and by the time my shoes on I have a fresh and hot cup o joe.

I'm not a fan boy for either but the Mr coffee seems to be more reliable. When we first got our Keurig as a gift it was giving us problems. I saw all the videos for where to look and fix them if they have the leak problem. Ours just kinda starting working correctly and haven't had a problem since. We pretty much immediately gave up on the k-cups for the expense. We get great coffee from the reusable k-cup and it makes coffee just as fast as I need it really. This whole thing came up because I had a friend visit the other day. I made him a cup of coffee and he was shocked by how strong it was. I was thinking he was just use to drinking watered down coffee.

I scoff at all you people addicted to your bitter beans. "Oh, I'm a bear if I don't get me coffee." "I need my coffee to feel like a human." "I'm addicted to coffee", blah, blah, blah...pansy, crowd following, herd mentality, sheep.

Now, I'm going to go get a Diet Coke and when I get back here, you people better have shaped up.

We didn't judge you for being a coke addict, don't judge us for being coffee addicts.

I really don't get much from drinking coffee. I sometimes go a day or more without thinking I need a cup. I just like the taste.

I didn't do coffee until I was offered hot diesel flavored water that they called coffee after a couple freezing nights in the field. I enjoyed looking at the rainbows on the surface in between sips.

The Keurig also makes a mean cup of hot chocolate. I will normally set mine to brew much stronger with less water. Takes two K Cups to fill the mug, but it's extra chocolaty. ;)

I enjoy coffee as a drink, but I also get a bit irked at this attitude some people have. Seems like a whiny excuse to act like a prima donna in the mornings.

First off, I like that Aeropress!

Since this poll is pretty much completely derailed, I'll chime in. I am a cup a day drinker. I used to make a pot on my Cuisinart to the 4 cup level, pour it into my travel mug and drink it. I never wanted a Keurig. Thought they were too expensive and not necessary. I still kind of think that but my mom (who is in her 80s) gave me one as a gift. Of course, I am not going to return it so I started using it. I make one cup in the morning but usually I use the My K-Cup basket and use my own coffee. It makes a decent cup. Certainly good enough for me.

However, coffee is one of those foods that your taste will evolve with time. Now at my new job, one of the guys is "into coffee". So we split the cost and buy coffee from Motorhead Coffee out of Louisville. We buy the "Diesel" version. He also has 10W30, 20W50, etc. We grind the beans each morning and use a pour through type maker similar to the Aeropress but it makes a small carafe, about enough for 3.5 cups.

Now this is good stuff. Bold but smooth and not bitter. I drink it the way I like...er. I drink it black.:)

But I'm not a snob. Next week when I go to my in laws for Thanksgiving, I will enjoy drinking a cup of Folgers with them. For me it is a very social drink.

I agree with gregkl about our taste evolving over time. For a few months I was transfered to the Corporate office in the 10 Monroe building in Chicago, one of those ridiculous places with doormen in band director suits and receptionists for the secretaries of the executive assistant of the hotshot no one could ever see kind of place. They had all types of exotic gourmet coffees available. I would order the plainest coffees they had, because that is what I liked drinking. And they made it in a drip style coffe maker.

...now my GF on the other hand is a pretty picky java drinker and she drinks A LOT! I tell her she drinks too much coffee. I can't understand who could possibly sleep after drinking a nightly cup of black coffee. I have problems sleeping so caffeine is the devil to me in the evening.

EDIT: Also about the french press. I do like it occasionally but it mostly stays in the cabinet as a back up.
