Full disclosure: Todd Akin was at one time my US Representative.

Todd Akin at one time said something foolish that was scientifically unsound, but in no way constituted a "War on Women". He was left hung out to dry by the Establishment, not because of his foolish statement, but because the Establishment hates conservatives.

Otherwise, your point is spot on, regarding the double standard in treatment of the two men, and their statements.

Oh the left would never quote mine.

    Sure...

Well, as long we can all agree that this is poutrage and non-issue I guess all is good.

It is sad to see voters like the OP falling for these manufactured outrages and spreading them around. It is no wonder we have another Bush/Clinton elections.

    None of the narratives fit.

This essay is the opposite of what Akin said.

Mother Jones was the first to print the essay.

0 for 2 in the poutrage department.

That piece was a model for tough, fair and insightful journalism.

    Seriously, fan boy much?

It isn't journalism. It is a story, an essay. Not even an editorial.

I read it though. Nothing to get bent out of shape over. The teabagger crowd is eating it up. That is the point.

Heh. One can argue it takes a swing at your sig line.

I could care less what this wierdo's fantasies are, as long as his significant other is ok with playing along. All I care about is that he holds philosophical views that just won't line up with mine. He won't be getting my vote because I don't want his ideas in the Oval Office, not because he has some Freudian daddy issue that gives him creepy thoughts while he is buggering himself.

    Wait a minute.

How do you know Jade Helm has been active for years?

Its just the latest name for something the special operations community has been doing for years. The most famous is Robin Sage, but there are many others. No conspiracy theories needed, they're training exercises in asymmetric warfare and problem solving in dynamic and crowded environments for people who need that kind of training. If they didn't do it here, they'd have to get some other country to agree to letting us run around in their cities.
