Every time you go out for a meal it WILL be an experience. Some good and some not so good.
My family and I pray over our meals at home and we do the same regardless of where we are. We do this to give thanks, not for public display.

We have learned what restaurants to go to for just a meal and what restaurants to go to for the atmosphere. "You can't catch a bass in a mud hole"

We have places that we avoid on certain days of the week. One place has great food at great prices, but don't go on Thursdays. They play trivia on Thursdays and during the waiting period for writing down your answers they play the music way too loud to even have a conversation. We know this after going there once. We don't complain about it, we just don't go on Thursday nights.

As others have said just live your life man!!!!!!

I, for one, wish pajamas were considered business casual. I won't wear them to a restaurant, because I'm not trying to be a non conformist, but I wish I could. The only time I wear them outside the house is for a quick trip to a convenience store, but I would wear them everywhere if I could. Comfort rules.

We don't eat out much at all these days, it's less costly and better when we cook at home.

Said the guy wearing sweat pants...

Sweat pants don't even compare to someones nasty feet being exposed while others are trying to eat. I leave the clothing judging to my wife & daughters.......I don't really care what you wear, how greasy your hair is, how many tattoos and ear rings you have, how many ex wives you have.......but for goodness sake, wear some shoes. We are not cavemen. Did you ever see a picture from the 50's-60's of them old guys in suits and top hats....how many were wearing flip flops? Add purple where needed.

Seriously.....I could care less. I just like getting you guys worked up. No one will ever agree with everyone, and I for one don't plan on spending much time trying to impress anyone. Never have been much on acting like something I am not. What you see is what you get. Like it or lump it.....kind of how it is with me.

Whether in dress (such as blue jeans at funerals, pajamas at restaraunts, etc.) or actions (catfights at Walmart, for example) or verbal (crude talk or foul language at inappropriate times, and so forth), America has, for the most part, become a crude place. Most people don't even have the slightest clue about where the line between appropriate and inappropriate lies. Decorum is dead.

It all started when we replaced you know who in school with LGBT groups. Or maybe it was when we allowed women to vote, hmmm, not sure now........BTW......is it ok if I am buried in jeans? I would really like to be buried in sweat pants......but the decorum(I looked the meaning up) czar may think that is unacceptable :)

I told the wife to have them put me in a denim shirt and jeans, buckle my old tool belt around my waist, put on my steel toe boots and hard hat. Have the undertaker transport me to a site where they are setting utility poles and drop me in before planting the pole. That will give the archaeologists in the future something to discover. (And I would be in proper attire for the event! )

My grandfather was buried in his DNR work clothes. They were the nicest clothes he had.

My Grandfather wore Liberty bib overalls everywhere he went. He had a new pair that was still the darker denim color that he wore to funerals or special events. The top side button was never buttoned though. I can guarantee you that he always had his case knife in his pocket and a pair of wire pliers in the side pocket. Prince Albert can of tobacco, Tops rolling papers and box of strike anywhere matches in the top front pocket.

Sorry for the derail BBI got me missing my Paw Paw.

    Back on topic:
sWhen people let their kids round around a restaurant because they aren't watching them annoys me. It makes me want to give them a can of Red Bull to drink and a free puppy to take home.

When I was in early elementary school the ONLY time sneakers were allowed was gym class. And lunch boxes were metal. (Emergency/squad51 was mine)

The comment about the airplane earlier by PaulF is spot on. I travel quite a bit for business, and fortunately when travelling international fly in business class. I generally try to be comfortable since I'm going to likely try to get a bit of sleep on the plane, so usually wear either some really comfortable khakis, or nice jeans with a button down. Usually bring a sport coat along as well and have the attendant hang it up.

As you might expect, usually business class is pretty respectable. Some folks do change into sweat pants after airborne, and then change back prior to landing. Again, cool with me. 14 hours on a plane is a long time.

By virtue of business class we get to board first, and enjoy some snacks while the economy cabin boards. Wow what a "Diverse" set of travelers I see. For every nice looking lady in yoga pants, there are 10 not so nice looking old men and women wearing some pretty incredible things. The BO prior to leaving is also astounding...and of course gets worse after the flight. Customs usually smells like a dirty locker room.

I do fly my fair share of coach too, so not being a business class snob. One of the worst things that happened to me in coach was the lady behind me put her foot up on the armrest behind me (we were both in aisle seats) and she proceeded to clip her toe nails. No, they weren't nice feet with nicely pedicured French tips either. Nasty hammer toe, crusty yellow nails, and to make matters worse she didn't even bother cleaning up the clippings. Just let them fall on the floor. After she was done she then decided to walk barefoot to the lavatory and was in there for 20+ minutes.

Air travel has definitely gone the way of wal-mart unless you are lucky enough to fly business / first, or even more lucky and fly privately.

Wait... $300 for only 8 people? At Lonestar? Thats nearly $40 a head! WTF were you eating?!?!?! Or should I ask what were you drinking? :):Or am I just a cheap date? I'm lucky to break $30 including tip WITH a beer when I go to a chain steakhouse.

Not that I disagree with your overall sentiment... (maybe those were their GOOD PJ's? :): )

This coming Saturday evening, my wife and I will be celebrating our 7th anniversary at Capitol Grille. We will most assuredly NOT be in our pajamas.

If you're looking for me, I'll be the big hairy guy wearing the stained cargo shorts, Columbia sandals, and tank-top undershirt. Au Jus stains and all.

Back when I had to fly on a regular basis for work, I had to purchase two seats in coach. That was before it was required, but I still paid for them. I was shocked by the number of people sitting in the third seat in the row who believed (after being made aware that I purchased both seats), that they put their crap in my seat and crowd me to make themselves more comfy.

Worse yet were the people who believed it was okay to recline their seat and literally lay on top of me, with their seat back in physical contact with my torso. I got in the habit of pushing them back up and when they'd try to push back with their legs, they learned I was stronger. Then, when I became a "pro" at it, I would brace one arm against the back of their seat as soon as the flight attendant told everyone they could move around the cabin. They'd try to push back and recline, but they couldn't budge the seat back. Some would assume it was broken and cease. Some would ***** about it, and I'd inform them that I didn't want them laying on top of me. I won.

I haven't flown since 1992. I will never fly of my own free will again unless their are exigent circumstances and no alternatives.

Did anyone order a steak done more than medium*? Those are the cretins who need to be shamed into staying home.

*Medium acceptable only for children under 18 or pregnant women.

I went to the theater today and not one man was wearing a proper theater jacket. It certainly dampened my enjoyment.

I could not agree more...truly. I love mine medium rare. Anything more and it loses its flavor.
