Exactly why I just laid out $1200 for a fancy brick mailbox built in front of my house - classy - BUT, no paper tube/tile installed. Don't take the paper, will never take the paper again. It's not news anymore.

I would disagree that it is a "secret campaign." It seems pretty obvious if you have been reading it for the past few months.

The thing that keeps me scratching my head is that the recent RTRF debacle was a pretty convincing illustration of just how powerful the LGBT lobby is with business leaders, the media, and the moneyed-interests all on their side. Why exactly do they need special protection? I find myself having a hard time imagining how new protections will make a difference one way or the other; it doesn't seem like a business would survive discriminating against them anyway, nor does it appear that anybody is currently doing so or else it would make headlines. It's all just a show to look good to the media bosses and pat ourselves on the back.

Americans love their fads. They also love nanny-state type laws. This was predictable. In fact, the democrat wanna-be governor has stated it as a goal of his should he be elected.

Agree or disagree with their stated goal, it is disturbing to me that a "journalistic" publication is supporting an agenda so blatantly. But honestly, what else do I expect from the star? They have to sell papers some how and controversy is their chosen route. Breitbart has the story here: EXCLUSIVE: Indy Star Orchestrates Secret Campaign To Promote LGBT Special Protections - Breitbart

I apologize if this is a dupe. I didn't see it posted yet.

Well, they are a private publication as far as I know, so they can pursue whatever they are interested in. While many here will disagree with it but I believe they have every right to do it if they choose to. It's up to the public to support them or not.

Since the premiere of "I Am Jazz" on TLC, school systems are seeing a sudden presence of transgender kids. I haven't watched the show nor do I plan to but it was coincidentally released on the heels of the ongoing news story about the 1976 men's Olympic decathlon champion's transition into a Kardashian has-been media whore and adolescent girls and boys everywhere have been inspired to get in touch with their inner he-she. Schools are going to be wrestling with adding a third set of facilities (restrooms, locker rooms, etc.) as this latest and greatest social agenda is crammed down our throats.

The difference between fads that have always been present among children and youths, and what we see today, is that people in power did not endorse them, enable them and teach them. Growing up I was Superman, Iron Man, a baseball star, a rock star, a race driver, etc. The adults of that era did not make any of those things an excuse for not being responsible and learning to get along as a productive member of society. The idea that all members of society bow down and make accomodation for any whim of a minor is pure folly.

I am saddened to see what the greedy promoters have enabled and made a ton of money off the crasy antics of that little Miley. Her handlers do not care about her, her well being, her long term mental a physical health, they just want to amke a buck. Just like that little Brittany girl several years ago.

They have a right to do it, sure.....but for the sake of the definition of the word "integrity" I hope they never try to pass themselves off as an objective reporter of news, again.

Not sure what the secret in Secret Campaign is here. The Star has been on a campaign for every Liberal Loon cause on the planet for many, many years.

Right. And in the future, should they (like has happened elsewhere in the media) avoid wearing flag pins or other the like because they don't want to appear favoring one side over the other, it would be good to remember this.

    .
Lots of cash to be made getting a protected group going, legal fees alone will be a mint.

The star's turn to the dark side corresponded to their sale to Gannett (USA Today) lo these many years ago. I just used a metal post to plant my replacement mailbox, but I had that stupid plastic defacement previous to that. Actually two of them. Thing is, they would throw the thing on the driveway wrapped in a bag whether the box was there or not. Twice they tried to inflict free subscriptions on me, and I had to tell them to stop it. My first thought was I was getting someone else's. Ultimately, I objected to having to dispose it.

It's ridiculous that a newspaper tries to make the news as opposed to reporting the news. It's even more ridiculous that you can be fired in Indiana for no more reason than being gay.
